Willow Springs Campsite is in the mountains but close to the beach, offering an ideal location to explore The Gower, The Brecon Beacons and South Wales. Campers will have their own spacious private pitch with hardstand/parking, alternatively you can try one of their three shepherd's huts.
About Willow Springs Campsite
This is a small, eco friendly campsite with exclusive pitches and clean, (home from home) facilities in a quiet, peaceful location in South Wales. You'll be staying next to the Afan Forest Park, comprising some 64 square km of amazing forestry. Being a back to nature quiet retreat, it's ideal for keen mountain and road bikers, ramblers, horse-riders, stargazers and families of all ages. There are abundant wildlife and panoramic vistas to get guests relaxing. On offer are 10 exclusive pitches with hardstanding, suiting day vans, campervans, tents, trailer tents and motorhomes (up to 25ft) without electric for a return to nature. Fire pits are permitted and wood is available from reception, if you don't have one, don't panic, you can hire one! The campsite is serviced by an ancient spring, has 4kw of solar PV, full recycling and an eco drying room. If you're looking to bring most things with you but want to skip the hassle of putting up a tent, you can choose one of the stunning shepherd's huts (Clover and Daisy accept pets, but Nutmeg is pet free). Both Daisy and Clover have a double bed with mattress, one faux leather double sofa bed, a bistro patio table and chairs, a pet/child safe eco-heater, interior and exterior lighting, porched cooking area, firepit, picnic table and car park / hardstanding. You can hire a single gas stove or bring your own! You'll also need your basic camping equipment, bedding, towels, cooking equipment etc. Two well behaved dogs are permitted with a booking for Clover or Daisy. There are no useable plug sockets but the site does have a charging service from reception. Nutmeg's beautiful interior comprises a wood burning stove, double leather sofa bed and a fitted double bed - complete with orthopaedic mattress to ensure a restful sleep. There is a bistro table and four chairs for use inside or outside on the elevated veranda as well as a picnic bench situated next to the firepit slab. Your firepit is included with your booking to toast your marshmallows! Nutmeg is amazing value for money and extremely eco-friendly, fitted with a solar panel to provide lighting as well as power for charging your phone, iPad or small devices via two USB connectors. You will need to bring all the usual camping gear - bedding, pillows, towels cooking equipment.

Site rules and policies
Campfires by way of firepits are allowed on the hardstand area of your pitch, wood is available onsite, if you bring your own make sure its safe to burn and is not contaminated.
We enforce a tranquil time between 11pm and 8am.
Dogs must be under control at all times - there is an area adjacent to let them off lead.
Dogs are not permitted in 'Nutmeg' Shepherds Hut.
2 well behaved Dogs are permitted in 'Clover' and 'Daisy' Shepherds Hut.
Smoking and/or vaping on your pitch only all other areas are considered communal and therefore smoke/vape free.
Arrivals strictly between 3pm and 10pm (we cannot accept arrivals after 10pm), departures before noon.
No generators, no amplified music/speakers, no disposable BBQs.
Recycling facilities and food waste disposal. No landfill (landfill waste must be taken off-site with you)

Things to do on site and in the Port Talbot area
The area around site lends itself to all sorts of activities, such as forest running, road biking, motorcycle touring. Water lovers can get down to fishing, surfing, kitesurfing and other watersports. You can horse ride in the forested landscape or stargaze with incredibly clear skies at night.
When the weather fails you, take a look at the South Wales Miners' Museum for a slice of history in the Afan Valley. There's a cinema and factory outlet shopping centre in the town nearby that will get shopping lovers excited.
Afan Forest Park is also home to varying mountain bike trails (voted top 10 in the world), so don't forget to give them a whirl! Margam Country House with small animals, coffee shop, boating lake, Go Ape is well worth a visit and then there's the imposing Margam Abbey, a Cistercian monastery.
