About Pantybarcud
This peaceful campsite is the perfect pocket of countryside for anyone looking to sit back and unwind amongst nature. Situated just outside of Drefach Felindre and only 30 minutes from the coast, you'll feel relaxed after your stay here.
There are three grass pitches for tents, all of which don't have electric. There are an additional three non electric grass pitches for small campervans in an adjacent field. There's plenty of space for everyone to spread out and feel at ease here.
Venture out and about through the woodlands, or drive further afield for even more lovely trails. A great spot for hikers.
Dogs are welcome and due to the woodland location, this is a lovely spot for walkers and dog walkers alike. The site asks that dogs are kept on a lead around the chickens, vegetable garden and polytunnel. There is lots of other space onsite for them to run free.
Campfires are allowed and make for a truly authentic camping experience.
The site is open for Easter and over the May bank holiday weekends and May half term.
Facilities and amenities
There are two composting toilets in the field and one electric shower in the main house. There's also WiFi in the yard, a covered area with a sink and work top, and a small fridge and freezer for freezer packs.

A note from the site themselves...
We aim to provide a tranquil spot where you can chill and relax in beautiful surroundings. We have created a campsite that uses the natural features of our land in harmony with our environment.
Our small hamlet is in the village of Cwmhiraeth. Hiraeth is a Welsh word that does not have a direct translation. It is a mixture of longing, yearning wistfulness and nostalgia. To us, that sums up our home, along with the word peaceful.
We do also have some of those essentials too, including a great pub within walking distance, and great walks in the area.
Grass pitches without electric. Suitable for tents only. Pitches measure approximately 8m x 8m. Please note cars are not permitted on the camping field, all vehicles must be parked in the designated area.
3 x Non Electric Grass Campervan Pitches
Max 2 people
Grass pitches without electric. Suitable for small campervans only. Pitches measure 10m x 10m, units longer than 5m are not allowed.
Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent PitchesMay 2024
Spent 2 nights here (was originally only meant to be one but we loved it). Super friendly owners and a really well set out site.
The outdoor kitchen made our life so much easier when it came to meal times, and our little puppy loved jumping through the grass and flowers, made even better by 'Spock' the friendly spaniel that came to play with ours.
Just a small wall down the hill to a great pub and a half-hour or so drive to the beach.
5*, A+, would 100% recommend and we will definitely be back soon.
An amazing eco haven in the hills!

VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Campervan PitchesApr 2024
We had an amazing two nights here last week as part of a campervan trip around the coast and would strongly recommend.
There had been a lot of rain, so owner Caroline communicated clearly with us beforehand, offering us a spot near the main house as an alternative, as the field we'd booked was too wet for our van. We were so happy with our little hard standing spot! Gorgeous views, the smell from the log burning stove from the eco-cabin nearby and visits from chickens, cats and Kit and Caroline's lovely dog Spock!
The campsite was really peaceful and the outdoor eco toilet/shower block was close by with good water pressure, composting toilet and hot shower.
The land is owned by Kit and Caroline, both lovely and really helpful. They were on hand to help with anything we needed but we didn't feel intruded on/watched over despite being quite near the house.
Location wise, it served as a great base for us when visiting Cardigan and nearby towns and was the perfect stop off on our journey south. Relatively easy access for our camper compared to some other remote places we stayed and Kit has a tractor if you're really stuck!
Will definitely pass back through next time we're near Pantybarcud and hopefully stay in the main field in some warmer weather. Thanks Kit, Caroline and all the animals at Pantybarcud :)
Site's response
Thank you for your lovely review. We were a little bit anxious about not being able to offer the field!
Hopefully everything will dry. In fact, as I write, the sun is shining and we look set for a few days of sun!
Couldn't have asked for better!

VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Campervan PitchesApr 2023
Absolutely loved this site, it was quiet and peaceful. If you're looking for a real off grid experience, this is the place for you.
The couple who own the place are really friendly and welcoming and give you all information you need. Also shout out to Spoc, their really friendly dog, who loves belly rubs.
We were really lucky to be the only ones staying so had the whole field to ourselves, but as the site fits 3 campers, you would still have privacy if other people were staying. Showers are available down by the house and there is a compost toilet in the camper field kept really clean.
Overall I would recommend this place, especially if you want a quiet and peaceful night around the campfire watching the stars. We can't wait to go back.
