A note from the site themselves...

The Hayward Family has been rooted here since the 1900s when they traded South London for these beautiful fields. Back then, the Hayward Brothers, known for their famous pickles, realized that our heavy Wealden clay soil wasn't exactly veggie-friendly. So, they decided to move on, leaving Tony Hayward (Bill's dad) as the tenant at Holmsted.

Sadly, Tony passed away in the late 1990s, and that's when Bill and Amanda stepped in, eventually buying the farm back. Since then, some big changes have been brought to both the farm and the business. We waved goodbye to the dairy cows and brought the contracting business back in-house. These days, we're what you call a 'mixed' farm.

But that's not all. Like many of our farming friends around here, we've diversified, hence the reason for the campsite. We can't wait to welcome you and share this special place with you, Joshua
