Please note that this site doesn't provide showers and so guests must bring their own facilities if required.

Longview Farm Eco Camping is set in the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Here you're treated to a lovely 3 acre camping field with plenty of flat areas and offering views of mature trees, fields, calm hills and an ancient Iron Age fort. Plus, there's a character-filled shepherd's hut that's fully furnished and waiting to welcome you.

Why you'll love it at Longview Farm

About the site

This is a low key but beautifully located eco campsite, which has recently opened its doors to campers. The farm has 8 acres cared for using organic and permaculture techniques. For campers, there are just four grass pitches, so more than enough space to stretch out! Wonky (so-called because of its unique roof design) is a new addition to the farm. She welcomes two people to sleep on her mezzanine bed, and two more can sleep on a futon below. Four people is a squeeze though, and you'll all get to each other very well! For eco reasons, bedding isn't included in your stay and guests are asked to bring their own, other than a basic sheet which is supplied on the futons.

Open from 1 May to 30 September

*Check-in: from 2pm (other timings can be arranged with prior agreement)

*Fires: fires are allowed on site, but only in the fire bowl provided. A sack of firewood including kindling can be purchased for £5 or you can bring your own, but foraging for wood / sticks / twigs on site is not allowed, as this provides plenty of natural habitat for wildlife and insects

*Boundaries: the campsite is limited to the 3-acre field which contains the facilities. If you want to look around the rest of the growing area please agree this first, as Longview Farm is also a private home and it's unsettling to unexpectedly find strangers in the garden!

*Rabbits: the farm has hens and pet rabbits who sometimes free-range. You are welcome to pet them if they are feeling friendly, but please don't scare or feed them.

*Children are of course welcome (naturally we ask for noise to be kept to a level which is respectful of other campers, the residents of the house and our neighbours in the early morning) and while they can't get in to too much danger on site, they'll still need some supervision. Please do not let children wander into areas which are not part of the camping field, and especially to pick fruits etc. from trees without agreement

This campsite would suite people who like nature, nice views, walking / cycling, peace and quiet, getting away from it all.

This campsite would not suite people who like luxury, convenience and playing music (unless you're bringing your own instruments).

Think retreat, not rave.

Families with small children or anyone with mobility issues should be aware there are steep-ish steps both up to Wonky Wagon and the compost toilet.

If you are staying in the wagon we ask you not to light fire of any sort (including candles).

There is a footpath right from the gate, which will lead you either to the ancient fort at Nordy Bank and Brown Clee Hill or the other way to Bouldon and the Tally Ho pub (45 minutes). The hills are great for cycling if you like a challenge and give you a chance to take amazing landscape photos.

Ludlow is a great day out, with shops dating back centuries, a great castle and a thriving foodie culture that will be sure to please.

You're in reach of the amazing Ironbridge Gorge and its raft of museums that capture the spirit of the industrial revolution, including Blists Hill Victorian Town.
