About the site


Situated next to the Swanage Railway, and within easy reach of many of Dorset's most popular attractions, this is the perfect location for enjoying all this beautiful county has to offer. This back to basics site is family friendly and the ideal spot if you want to spend your days watching the steam trains, or chilling out on the beach. Tents, caravans and motorhomes are welcome on the site's non electric grass pitches spread across the large, peaceful camping field. A maximum of 75 tents, 27 motorhomes and three caravans are allowed at any one time to ensure everyone has plenty of room to relax. The Purbeck Heritage Coast is just a ten minute drive from the site and is great for spending your days walking the picturesque coastal path. Swanage Beachfront is also just a ten minute drive away and is the perfect place for a swim or a stroll along the historic pier. Campfires are allowed, just please keep them contained. BBQs and stoves are also permitted. Well behaved dogs are welcome.

The Kings Arms is just a five minute drive away and serves food. Spar is less than a ten minute walk away and is great for picking up the essentials.

A must visit when you're on site is a ride on the Swanage Railway which travels directly past the site, hop on at Harmans Cross Station which is less than a minute's walk from your doorstep. if you're feeling fancy you can even opt for one of the dining experiences on board, an experience you will never forget.

The site is also ideally located for days out at the beach. Swanage Beachfront (10 minutes) is a golden sand beach with beautiful blue waters, dogs are also welcome out of peak season. Swanage Pier is also a great attraction, known for its fishing, diving, watersports and boat trips.

Purbeck Heritage Coast (10 minutes) is also perfect for days of picturesque walks. Enjoy walking the coastal path which offers breathtaking panoramic views from dramatic chalky cliffs. Other nearby beaches also include Knoll Beach Studland (20 minutes), Durdle Door (30 minutes) and Canford Cliffs Beach (40 minutes).

For watersports, you have Dorset Adventure Park (5 minutes) which makes for an amazing fun day out. Play on the inflatable waterpark, or take on the challenging mud trail assault course. For rock pooling, snorkelling or surfing, Kimmeridge Bay (20 minutes) is the perfect place to go!
