This site is well located at the heart of the Peak District National Park. Close to Chatsworth House, the Heights of Abraham, Alton Towers, Haddon Hall, Bakewell, Buxton and Ashbourne, Lathkill Dale Campground provides level pitches for tents and campervans with electric hook up. There are small private crofts for close family groups, individual pitches with picnic benches and high speed Wi-Fi available.
About Lathkill Dale Campground
Lathkill is a small farm site for quieter campers, offering great views and secluded pitches. Endless walking from the site through the national nature reserve of Lathkill Dale is available. The Limestone way to the north and south offers expansive views of the Peak District. There are electric hook-ups available through the site and grass and hardstanding pitches are available with campfires allowed. This is a Dark Skies site, so please bring a torch.

Things to do on site and in the Bakewell area
Activities available locally include cycling, walking and swimming. A wonderful village pub and tearoom for lovely food and snacks, plus a local family dairy selling eggs, milk, ice cream etc are in the village.
Days out from the campsite can be filled with a trip to the wonderful Spa town of Buxton, taking in a show at the famous opera house, taking the kids (big and little) to Go Ape
Visitors who stop off in the village on this walk have passed through Cromford, Bonsall and Youlgreave coming from the south and from the north they have taken in Castleton, Tideswell, Millers Dale, Taddington and Flagg. The nearby High Peak and Tissington trails offer family-friendly walking and cycle hire.
From there, the trail splits and you can either take in Alsop, Tissington, Thorpe or Ashbourne, skirting the renowned Dove Dale, on the Tissington Trail, or head out towards Middleton, Black Rocks and Cromford on the High Peak Trail.
For real nature lovers, there is a fantastic journey through Lathkill Dale National Nature Reserve towards Over Haddon, Alport and Youlgreave.
The dale stretches for around five miles along a flower filled limestone gorge, depending on the time of year you can find cowslips, orchids anemones, Jacobs Ladder and many other species of rare flowers.
