This fantastic 19th century stone cottage is perched on the cliffs on the beautiful South Cornish Coast. No other buildings are within miles along the stretch of coast and it offers complete seclusion. For more adventurous spirits, it's an incredible experience - private, romantic and spectacular. This coastal camping barn sleeps up to five, but is perfect for romantic breaks. It's dog friendly and family friendly.

Why you'll love it at The Watch House

About the site

Stay in a place unlike anything you've experienced before: truly off the beaten track (a 20 minute walk to the nearest road and the carpark), and off-grid. The Watch House is an immensely special place - full of romance and incredibly private. Inside there is a log fire, gas cooker and hob and candles and LED torches offer soft lighting, without the need for electricity. There's mains water and an outside hot shower, plus bunks and mattresses to sleep a group of six. Logs and gas are provided, but guests need to bring bedding, towels and food. A small kitchen in the house has a further bunk in it, then there's a lavatory and a passage with food cupboards and storage space. It has been the site of many happy family holidays for the Trinick family (your hosts). Children adore the original built-in bunks, the excitement of candlelit evenings and fireside tales as much as being so close to beaches for rock-pooling, swimming and more. There is even a secret cove that guests can clamber down to below the house itself.

The Watch House

Max 6 people

A remote, off-grid coastal camping barn with spectacular views that sleeps up to six, in bunks and a pull out double.

The Watch House itself is entirely secure for kids, without danger from the cliffs (there is one path in and out and the cottage itself is well away from any edges). Beyond that, parental supervision will be required, as with anywhere on the coast.

While you're staying, your first step should be to hideout, gather shells and relax beside the waves in your own private cove. There's a sunny nook with a window in the house, too, for reading books.

Walking the beautiful South West Coast Path is an unmissable option for outdoor lovers.

There's rock-pooling, sea swimming and beaches within a short walk. Or you can head to the quaint seaside towns of Polperro, Looe and Polruan on foot and take a ferry over to Fowey.

Sorry, The Watch House is not currently accepting enquiries through Campsites.co.uk and cannot be contacted via this listing.
