Pant y March Farm is a serene retreat in the southern part of Snowdonia National Park, overlooking Wales' largest natural lake, Bala Lake. Just a 20-minute walk from the lake, the farm offers a peaceful, family-friendly environment where children can explore safely. Run by Llinos and Geraint Jones, this working farm blends rural charm with cosy comforts. Guests can stay in luxurious canvas lodges, fully furnished to sleep six and featuring private hot tubs—ideal for soaking away your troubles while admiring panoramic views of the shimmering water. Home to 300 hardy Welsh Mountain ewes, cows, and chickens, the farm immerses visitors in the authentic rhythms of traditional farming. Beyond the farm, enjoy outdoor adventures like water sports, mountain hiking, and cycling, or simply relax and marvel at starlit skies and colourful sunsets reflected in the lake. At Pant y March, adventure awaits! Canoe, paddleboard, or raft at Bala Lake, or enjoy tranquil wild swims at Llangywer Beach. Explore scenic biking routes at Coed y Brenin or take on thrilling zip lines at Zip World. Walks from the farm lead to mountain peaks, village pubs, or the railway. If you're a keen horse lover, bring your horse! The farm will be happy to stable, so you can enjoy hacks across Snowdonia and see the best of Wales on horseback.
The Bala Lake Railway is impossibly scenic and runs very close. You can take a train all the way up the height of Snowdon, or there's also the challenge of an incredible mountain climb on offer.
If you're ready to hit the water, there's a canoeing centre at Tryweryn that will get you kitted out and having a whale of a time before you know it.
Just an hour in the car will take you to Conwy, which includes an imposing 13th century castle, plus all the fun of Surf Snowdonia, where the indoor waves are always perfect.
