A note from the site themselves...

We are very proud winners of the Professor David Bellamy Gold Conservation Award. This is only granted to parks which have demonstrated a sound commitment to the natural world.

It is described as the "Green Olympics" - and goes only to parks which help protect and enhance the natural environment. We are particularly proud that his decision to make this award was based partly on the opinions of our holidaymakers. It was their comments about our park which helped to convince Professor Bellamy that Old Barn Touring was deserving of this conservation honour.

We hope you get to join us soon and see all our amazing efforts for yourself, Emma

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass PitchesOct 2024

Great place open in October. Needed for one night. Very quiet. Shower worked well and was 20p. Wi-Fi great. Hook up. Yeah it's a bit run down in places but who cares. It does the job. No complaints.

Very friendly and welcoming site

Sprinter-Type Campervan - Electric Grass PitchesSep 2024

This was our very first time using a campervan and visiting a site of this type. A very good site, which welcomed our two dogs. It had great sized plots, which were easily identified. The person at the reception desk was very kind and helpful, as this was our first camping experience. Would recommend this site, it was very clean and well looked after.

Up to two dogs are welcome per pitch, provided they are kept on a lead whilst onsite. Breeds and crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act are not permitted. There are plenty of footpaths ideal for exercising your pet leading directly from the park.

Sandown Bay is just under three miles away and you'll enjoy miles of stunning coastal views along the coastal path too. Nature lovers can enjoy ambling along the nature trails at Shanklin Chine whilst spotting an abundance of wildlife or why not wander the walled garden and woodlands surrounding Osborne House - formerly the holiday home of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert! Other nearby attractions include: *Dinosaur Isle (2.8 miles) - kids can enjoy the interactive robotic dinosaur displays and quizzes on a tour of an impressive collection of fossils found on the island. *Isle of Wight Zoo (3 miles) - animal experiences include feeding lions and tigers and there's a chance to say hello to lemurs, monkeys and more. *Yaverland Beach (3.2 miles) - this long sandy stretch is one of the island's most popular beaches and ideal for watersports including surfing and windsurfing.

Awnings and gazebos and pup tents are welcome but will only be permitted if space allows them to conform to fire regulations.

Open fires are not permitted. Barbecues must be raised off the ground and are not permitted in extremely dry or hot weather.

From your spacious pitch you can take one of many walks into some of the Isle of Wight's most beautiful countryside. Of course, the coastal path is a highlight, but you're also missing out if you don't spend long days at Sandown Bay, Shanklin Chine and Osborne House.

The IOW also runs special events for several months of the year:

  • May: the Isle of Wight Walking Festival
  • June: the Gaffers Festival and the Isle of Wight Pop Festival
  • July: Sandown Regatta and Sandown Carnival
  • August: Shanklin Regatta, Shanklin Carnival and Cowes Week.

The Garlic Festival is just one mile away from the park.
