Nice place though we had some confusion about the pitch boundaries. We drastically over reached into an adjoining pitch. We shifted our awning the next morning. It was a very quiet place and I enjoyed 6 days of local cycling during the first week of November. Just off the A303, an easy find! Thanks.

A beautiful campsite, very relaxed with owners very present and helpful. Lots of animals to keep the kids entertained such as sheep, goats, chickens, horses, cows and dogs. The view is just gorgeous, no town in site. Lots of birds of prey and the stars at night were amazing. We visited Sourhead Gardens which were fantastic. Also, Wookey Hole which was 45 mins away. Local pub did great food and had a kid's play area. Pitch was large, no other tents in front of it so you get unspoilt views. Toilets were nice, showers warm. There was a singer on Saturday and they serve drinks in the small bar, it was a lovely atmosphere. We had a lovely time, highly recommend.
Absolutely fantastic!

We had the most amazing stay. The site is amazing, my daughter loved the animals and it really made her day to see a lamb outside her door in the morning.

We stayed at Sunnyhill on our first camping trip with our 18 month old and couldn’t have picked a better site. The care and attention paid by Sandy and the crew really shines through, the little pieces of artwork around the site are lovely. We got a sense of being welcomed into a community rather than just contributing funds to a business and we will definitely be staying again. The site itself has gorgeous views, clean and well-maintained facilitates and a friendly bunch of locals (including Bo Peep the sheep!). The added bonus of the little cafe opening Sat/Sun morning was great too. Highly recommend. Thank you!

Great little campsite. All over the site, you can see little touches of how much love the owner is putting in. A very charming place. Would definitely stay again.

We stayed for one night in the middle of our journey to see family. There was electric hardstands, toilets & showers, waste bins and fresh water. There was also a toilet disposal point and a dishwasher point. The site was dog friendly and had a lovely view. What more do you need? All in good condition. We were greeted and shown around on arrival by friendly staff.

Friendly hosts and good facilities. Not much in the way of hardstanding or gravel pitches, but they are actively working on increasing that.
Site's response
Thank you for your review, I am so glad you enjoyed our place and facilities. The winter months are not always the easiest, thank you for your understanding of the maintenance work that we have going on here at the moment. The winter months are obviously the quieter time for such things. Hopefully see you again, Sandy and crew.

We wanted a quiet weekend for New Year so chose Sunny Hill Campsite. The location is great, there are several pubs in the local area and some lovely walks, it's a small site in farm land. We drove to King Alfred's Tower to walk the dogs in the woods as the weather was bad, but it would be walkable in the summer. The facilities are basic but they are clean and the water is hot. They are currently decorating and upgrading some areas for the summer season, it looked like a little bar will be available at some point. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, even offering a lift into Wincanton for our lunch booking on New Year's Eve. Exactly what we wanted and, although the weather was atrocious, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Many thanks for your lovely review. Me and my crew are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us, despite the weather being rubbish. We hope you will come again preferably when the weather is brighter and when you will see Sunnyhill at its best, which is usually between Spring and Summer. Once again many thanks.

A gem hidden in the hills of the countryside, friendly and welcoming by both humans and animals. The yurt was perfectly equipped and a bonus of the additional caravan kitchen, which provided a fridge and cooking facilities. Well functioning shower and toilet facilities and washing up area. There was so much space for the children to play and explore safely with minimal/ barely any traffic. A totally back to nature break with the most exquisite views, a lovely ending to some busy days visiting Longleat and Wooky Hole. Some beautiful walks through the countryside with routes provided. A quiet retreat which is sympathetic with the natural environment and views, no overcrowding and plenty of space for privacy and relaxation. Will definitely be back.

Thank you for your lovely review. Me and my crew are happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay and appreciated the beauty of this place. I myself and my small crew and some of our guests will agree with you that it is a little gem of a place. As I have said before, we are based in the middle of nowhere and not far from anywhere. We look forward to welcoming you again in the not to distant future. Many thanks, Sandy and Crew.

It is not worth to pay £25 for this campsite. It does not seem to be clean.

Amazing! Loved it! So peaceful. Forgot to take money out for the logs and the lady went out her way to let me transfer it over. Lovely people! Would highly recommend.

Stayed here as working locally. Great phone signal so could work on site from the van. Quiet and peaceful, clean and very good showers and loos. £25 a night is a lot of money for essentially parking in a field (no electric). But overall a really nice, safe place to stay. Would be good to have info on local walls available.

Thank you for your review. Me and the crew are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us and that you found the place to be quiet and peaceful and the facilities were clean. As for local info, there are usually brochures on the table in the lobby area of the Main Shower block, however I shall look into this. Many thanks, Sandy and Crew.

We had a great time camping in the meadow. The area is stunning, and good for walking and exploring. We had the added pleasure of some local musicians playing in the hayfield. Fires were allowed, and fire pits/wood available too. Town is nearby for supplies.

We were looking for a stopover site and this was perfect. Not far from the main road yet a world away with uninterrupted views over the valley. Clean facilities with lots of fun lights. Everyone bringing a little magic.
