About Wytch Wood Camping

One of Time Out's top UK campsites, this award-winning campsite invites you to get back to nature. Set in the fringes of ancient woodland on a family-run farm, you can enjoy escaping the stresses of day-to-day life. The farm occupies a closed valley, so there is very little traffic noise to disturb your break, you really feel like you're getting away from it all despite only being ten minutes from Crewkerne. Offering 14 camping pitches and three glamping bell tents, you can find the perfect spot for your next trip. Each pitch has it's own unique character, set in a variety of different settings across the site. Choose from the shelter of 100-year-old Beech trees, beside the babble of a limestone stream or on the edge of the wildflower meadow. Each camping pitch has its own compost loo, seating area and firepit with grill. All pitches are spacious, with some having room for a pup tent alongside your main tent. Five pitches are also suitable for small campervans, rooftop tents or trailer tents. Some pitches can also accommodate hammocks or suspended tents between the trees. Check out which ones are best for your set up, when you book. The three glamping, high-sided bell tents all come fully furnished with everything you need for your stay. including comfy beds and cosy linen, fluffy towels, an outdoor kitchen with cooking equipment. Tents range in size and sleep from two to five guests. Please note, the site is dog free. At least one member of each party must be a member of the Greener Camping Club.

Facilities and amenities

Each pitch has its own compost loo, a private seating area and a firepit with a cooking grill. In addition you will have access to the communal facilities including hot toiletries, water from the natural springs and washing-up sinks. The communal barn area comes with undercover seating, toys and games and fridge space to use, along with charging points.

There is an onsite coffee shop and bar with ice cream and cold drinks in the summer. Onsite activities including axe throwing, soft archery and woodland crafts and skills.

The nearest shop to site is One Stop, a ten minute drive away. If your searching for a pub, The Royal Oak Drimpton is also a ten minute drive away.

At least one person per pitch must be a member of the Greener Camping Club. Membership is £12 for the year and is non-refundable.

Only one main tent or campervan per pitch, though most pitches have space for an awning or pup tent. If you plan to use multiple tents, you are likely to need to book multiple pitches.

The site does not accept dogs other than support dogs

Check-in is from 2pm for camping and 3pm for glamping. Check out by 11am. The site asks guests to try to arrive by 7pm and notify them if expected to be later. You may not be allowed to drive onto the site to unload if you arrive after dark.

Cars are only allowed onsite to drop off/pick your gear, cars must then be returned to the car park.

This is a peaceful, quiet campsite for the enjoyment of nature.

The site does not allow radios, stereos or other sound systems and only quiet talking is permitted after 10pm. Acoustic instruments can be played before then.

Noisy visitors who disturb other guests will be asked politely to leave, without a refund.


You can stay busy on your trip, without even having to leave the site. Wander the woodland nature trail, try your hard at axe throwing or archery, or challenge friends and family to a game of badminton or croquet.

The site is also just 30 minutes from Lyme Regis and the beautiful Somerset Coast. Treat yourself to icecream or fish and chips on the beach, or if the weather is warm, why not take dip in the sea?
