About West Kellow Yurts

This glamping site enjoys a lovely location with sea views, just an easy walk across the field and down the lane to Polperro. It's perfect for a relaxing break, whether swinging in a carefree hammock, chatting with friends over food at the picnic tables or getting cosy around a real campfire. Each of the three yurts has about 100 square metres of space. You can just about make out your neighbours at 50 metres away! The yurts have plenty of character and are very relaxing, with cosy log burners, double beds and an extra double mattress under the bed. Two of the yurts have the option of a further single mattress upon request. Outside the yurts, you'll find two sun loungers, a table and chairs, a campfire area and a hammock. Extra baskets of logs/kindling can be purchased from the summer house, but you are welcome to supply your own if you prefer. There's also a quirky Wild West-style wagon with outdoor seating and space for a campfire, a breezy bell tent furnished with a double bed and cooking equipment, plus a cute shepherd's hut sleeping two. There's also a duck pond, chicken coop, herb garden and greenhouse a few minutes walk away. It's a peaceful place for a relaxing break, particularly with couples looking to get away from the city for a few days. You can also book the whole site for parties and events.

The yurts, wagon, Star Gazer hut, wood cabin and bell tents are open between April and mid September. The shepherd's hut is available between January and mid October.

Facilities and amenities

A note from the site themselves...

We try to do our bit for the environment where we can. We harness the power of the sun with our quatre of an acre of solar panels and have a natural spring to provide drinking water, which is UV treated and regularly tested.

We have been running the site since back in 2013. Since then, we have had lots of happy campers through our doors with many returning each year. Myself and the team hope to welcome you soon, Matt

Glamping Cabin - Wood CabinAug 2024

The wood cabin is exactly as described, it is an accommodation unit. Unless it is just two people, there is no room for anything else but sleeping. The communal kitchen was large, clean and had plenty of equipment for cooking should the weather turn bad, as it did for us. The toilets and showers were kept nice and clean and had plenty of hot water, just what you need after a day in the wet. Polperro is less than a mile away but its not an easy walk, especially on the return trip. However, Polperro also has some really nice places to eat and there is lots of choice on menus. The car park there is highly over priced, coming in at £7 for 3 hours, much easier to use the local Taxi firm who will run you back for just £10 which means you can have a drink with your food. Overall, a nice stay, excluding the weather and when it was bright there was a wonderful view of the sea.

Overall, very happy campers

Bell Tent - Bell Tent Jul 2024

Overall, we were very happy with our stay. Had originally booked for myself, my partner and my daughter but ended up being just me and my partner. We will definitely book to come again with my daughter though as I'm sure she would love it as much as we did. The price is fairly reasonable. The location is absolutely beautiful. So peaceful and tucked away. If you like something remote and quiet, with nature and star gazing, then it's just perfect. The bell tent was lovely and spacious and comfortable, with it's own private outdoor area including firepit which was lovely. Cleanliness was mostly good - a couple of things in the tent could have been a bit cleaner but overall was fine. Facilities were good, the kitchen area is nice and well equipped. Showers and toilets were reasonably nice - again could have been slightly cleaner but that's largely down to other users not the site itself. Didn't detract from our overall experience.# Can highly recommend the breakfast wagon! We had absolutely gorgeous food this morning before we left - would visit again purely for the food. It really is a lovely site and we'd happily stay again.
