About Kelker Well Roundhouse
Beautifully positioned on a small dairy farm, the roundhouse offers private space for guests, off-grid and an easy 10 minute walk away from parking. The surroundings are agricultural fields and luscious woodland. You're only 15 minutes away from the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and Morecambe Bay. Inside is a lovely kitchen, and a king size bedroom, plus a sofa / day bed. It has a bathroom extension with your ensuite shower and compost loo, plus outside decking. The hot tub is the ultimate finishing touch. All the bedding you need is suppled along with towels and toiletries. Things to do on site and in the Carnforth area
The area boasts open access land across five fells with countless footpaths that are easy to navigate, all on your doorstep! There is a gate a few metres from the site, taking you straight onto Hutton Roof Crags, passing by a badger set and onto the Limestone Link.
The Rakes, a limestone outcrop popular with climbers, is nearby, and the limestone pavements on Newbiggin Crags offer spectacular and unique landscapes.
Here in South Lakeland, you're very close to the national park. It's a 20 minute drive to Kendal, 30 mins to Windermere and an hour to Coniston and Keswick. Most areas are possible to cycle to or travel via the 555 bus from Clawthorpe.
The Yorkshire Dales National Park boundary begins at Kirkby Lonsdale which is just a 15 min drive away. The Dales are known for pretty villages, stone walls crossing the landscape, caverns and waterfalls.
Morecambe Bay is a large estuary stretching from Walney Island in Cumbria to Fleetwood in Lancashire. It has the largest expanse of intertidal mudflats and sand in the United Kingdom, which are possible to cross with The Queen's Official Guide, Cedric Robinson MBE during spring and summer. The area offers spectacular coastline views and amazing wildlife and adventure experiences.
