The four and a half acre site at Acorn Camping is surrounded by farmland. There are 75 pitches which can accommodate tents, touring caravans and motorhomes - and pitches are individually marked, some with trees and hedgerows providing extra privacy and shelter. The family orientated site operates a quiet time policy between 11pm and 7am and the managers live on the park to ensure the smooth running of the site. Goodyhoo Glamping provides chic options for glampers on site.

A modern amenity building offers free hot showers, and both ladies and gents shower rooms, with a separate hand basin and a place to get dressed. There are free hairdryers in both. A baby/family changing room is provided and facilities for disabled guests include a large open plan shower room.

In addition there is a dishwashing area, laundry area with two washing machines, tumble dryer, iron and electric socket (token operated). There is a small shop on site, providing fresh bread milk and eggs, and many other essentials - and a range of camping gas and Calor gas is also available.

The site has a children's play area with large wooden climbing frame (complete with swing, monkey bars, and climbing wall), a 14ft trampoline. Caffi Cwtch serves breakfast Wednesday to Sunday inclusive from 9am until 2.30pm, lunch is also served from 11.30am until 2.30pm and you can get coffee, snacks such as sausage rolls, pasties and cakes throughout the day.

Dogs must be on a lead at all times on the campsite.

It is a condition of your stay that you clean up after your dog immediately. Dogs must not be left unattended on the campsite or in any vehicle. Dogs are not allowed onto the farm land outside the front gates. By bringing your dog on to the park you are deemed to accept these terms. Anyone found not to be clearing up after their dog, will be asked to leave.

This site does not allow open fires or fire pits on site.

Excessive drinking and groups of young adults are not allowed.

As a family site, the site asks for quiet between 11pm and 7am and no loud radios, which ensures that everybody can have a peaceful holiday.


The site is situated on the Wales Heritage Coast with its rolling hills and lovely walks. Llantwit Major has some lovely historic inns that serve food, a nearby leisure centre with swimming pool and an array of independent shops.

Just over 15 miles away, you'll find the historic city of Cardiff and Cardiff Bay which has an abundance of restaurants and pubs where you can relax and watch the flurry of boats.

There is a local park and ride train service from Llantwit Major to Cardiff. Trains run every hour Monday to Saturday, and every two hours on Sundays.
