River Wye Campsite is a peaceful campsite in a idyllic location with the River Wye running alongside. Pitch up your tent on one of the grass pitches or stay in comfort in one of the onsite bell tents. You can enjoy the family friendly onsite activity centre offering axe throwing, archery and canoeing. Nestled in the Welsh countryside you're just ten minutes from the quaint town of Hay-on-Wye and the iconic Brecon Beacons National Park.

About River Wye Campsite

An onsite activity centre with a picturesque backdrop. Just a moments walk down to the riverbank and views over the surrounding hills this site has it all. From fun filled activities for all ages and a chance to relax in the peaceful countryside. Offering 30 spacious pitches both electric and non electric, ideal for tents and up to six people per pitch. Or why not stay with ultimate comfort and leave the tent behind? The site is home to four bell tents, all sleeping up to four with cosy beds and furnishings. Well behaved dogs are welcome on the campsite, with some lovely local walks to enjoy. Sorry no dogs in the bell tents. BBQs are allowed as long as they are raised off the ground. Fire pits are allowed if purchased from the site.

Camping is open all year round. Bell tents are only open from 8th April to 25th September.


Facilities and amenities

Onsite facilities include a hot shower block and toilet and free WiFi near Glasbury House. There is also a cafe, The Paddlers Rest, onsite serving breakfast, lunch, coffee and cake.

The Harp Inn is a local traditional pub, just a 10 minute walk away. A ten minute drive takes you to Hay-on-Wye, where you'll find a cafe, restaurants, pubs and a Co-op for essentials.

No wood fires, fire pits or Chinese lanterns are allowed.


Being an activity centre there is plenty to do here at River Wye Campsite for all ages. From canoeing and kayaking down the river to hitting bullseye after learning the art of archery with qualified and experienced staff, you can even turn your hand at axe throwing on the weekends.

You can also explore the lovely village of Glasbury or the nearby Hay-on-Wye with a selection of shops and rich in culture.

There are also great walking routes from the site, with the outskirts of the Brecon Beacons National Park just a 10 minute drive away.
