About The Little Hide - Grown Up Glamping

Your search for a cosy base whilst your visiting York is over, this adult only glamping site shares facilities with the caravan park next door and offers a range of furnished glamping units, three ponds and an farm shop onsite that serves delicious breakfasts, lunches and snacks! There are eight camping pods, six of which are dog friendly, that sleep up to two with a comfortable double bed or two single beds if preferred. Inside is a bedside table, a coffee table, a kettle and two mugs,. a sofa and an outdoor table and chairs. The pods also have heating and lighting. Or, opt for the glamping cabin, set just off the car park next to the Fridge Shack, it overlooks the den and the pods. It is perfect for a romantic getaway with a double bed, two comfortable seats, a table and chairs, bedside table, coffee table, electric sockets, a kettle, cups plus tea and coffee. Go for something a bit different with the Yurt, equipped with a heater for the cooler months but still remember to bring your fleecy PJ's and blankets! Inside is a king sized bed with a memory foam mattress plus a small sofa bed to sleep up to three. It features a kettle, mugs, chairs, lights, electric and outside seating. Bedding is provided in all of the glamping units, but you will need to bring your own towels. Hop on the bus with bus stop just outside of the site that takes you right into York, only a 15 minute drive away, but don't worry you'll still feel like you're in the countryside with scenic walks on your doorstep into Wigginton past Millenium wood. Dogs are welcome onsite but please ensure that they are kept on a lead at all times. BBQs are permitted and there is a communal BBQ and fire pit area. Do also note that the site shares facilities with the caravan park next door.

Facilities and amenities

There are two toilet and shower blocks, plus disabled access toilets and pay-to-use hairdryers. One is by the caravan park's reception and another slightly smaller block just around the corner and offers wet rooms and toilets. In the main block, there are laundry facilities including washers and tumble dryers and a fridge shack with a microwave and toaster (for pods only).

The Willow Farm Cafe onsite can supply takeaway breakfasts, lunches and cake! Guests have use of three fishing ponds, plus a BBQ area and an onsite bus stop, with a regular bus service into the city.

There are multiple supermarkets and pubs within a five minute drive, including a Sainsbury's and the Lysander Arms.

FAQ

Self check-in is available from 3pm. You will receive an email two hours prior to your arrival with all the information you need. Departure is due before 10am on your final day.

Your pups are more than welcome to join you here with six of the eight camping pods being dog friendly! Please just make sure dogs are kept on their lead and not left unattended.

All glamping units provide bedding but please make sure to bring your own towels.

If you're after some alfresco dining, you'll be pleased to hear that BBQs are permitted. There is even a communal BBQ and fire pit area for guests to enjoy!

Yes, there's a lovely onsite farm shop serving up a range of snacks as well as breakfast and lunch!

There is a bus stop directly outside the site that takes you to York in just 15 minutes!


All of York's attractions are at your fingertips from this site. Kick things off by roaming the town's landmarks to get an idea of its ancient heritage - the National Railway Museum, Medieval city walls and imposing York Castle. York Minster is absolutely jawdropping, one to devote your day to.

You might like to finish off all the history with some spook and gore, so get a totally different take on history with state-of-the-art scares at York Dungeon.

Bargain hunters will love Shambles Market, which has its own impressive history and is the place to spot all kinds of great buys. And if you're a foodie, York's Chocolate Story will be a real treat.
