About the site
This family-run glamping site is set in ten acres of private ancient woodland on the Hampshire/Berkshire border, surrounded by the stunning countryside of the North Wessex Downs AONB. Just 45 minutes from London, the South Coast, and five minutes from the historic Highclere Castle, it's the perfect getaway. The site offers two vintage-style pods, each sleeping up to two adults and two children. Each pod features a double bed with bedding, space for two optional Z-beds or a travel cot, and all the essentials including cooking and washing-up equipment, a toaster, fridge, kettle, towels, and heating. Alternatively, there are three 6m bell tents that can accommodate up to two adults and four children. Each tent comes with a double bed and four optional Z-beds, as well as bedding. One tent has a Morocco-themed interior, another is inspired by Bedouin style, and the third has a Jungle theme. All tents are equipped with cooking and washing-up facilities. The tents are off-grid, but you'll still have access to a communal fridge/freezer, log-burning stove, and a whistling kettle for your morning tea. Each unit has its own private bathroom with a flushing loo and hot shower, along with a covered camp kitchen featuring a gas stove and charcoal BBQ. There's also a shared brick-built fire pit for the pods, while each tent has its own steel fire pit. All units offer beautiful woodland views, creating the perfect setting to wake up to each day. For stargazing, head to Beacon Hill Highclere, just five minutes away, where you'll enjoy panoramic views over Berkshire, Hampshire, and Wiltshire, including the famous Watership Down! Located near the historic town of Newbury, there's plenty to explore, from historic sites and museums to farm parks and scenic countryside walks. Local pubs offer a cosy spot to unwind after a day of adventure. Dogs are welcome, with up to two pets allowed per unit (though it may be a bit tight if the pods are fully booked).
The bell tents open from April to September and the pods are open all year until 22nd December.
