VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Campervan PitchesAug 2024

Nice, little campsite with goats and alpacas. Very peaceful. Facilities very basic. Chemical toilets are a major downside to the stay as cleanliness isn't great. Perfect for a one night stay, but would struggle without proper toilets.

Site's response

Hi Jamie, Yes we have events toilets. The listing does mention this as well as our confirmation email, where we clearly list our events toilets in both of those before anyone arrives. Sadly, we cannot control other guests and can assure everyone that the toilets are cleaned with eco-products, and checked regularly as well as there are large signs on the loos, to notify us if there is any issues. We have had plenty of lovely feedback that these are sufficient. If you had contacted us on site, we could have addressed the concerns. As an eco and environmental site, we also don't want to be dumping our waste along with everyone else's into river and sea sewage dumps. All waste is taken off site and treated and in fact goes back to farming land for regeneration and water supply. We actually don't accept chemical waste, there is no chemical waste dumping on our site. Thank you for your feedback, and we hope you find a more suitable site for your standards and requirements.

Fantastic, loved everything about this site!

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent PitchesAug 2024

Just got back and wished we had extended for another night! We will most definitely book again! It was a lovely place to stay in with the Alpacas. Claire is a wonderful host, super knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. So dedicated and concerned for the welfare of the animals. We all had the best time. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Bell Tent - Unfurnished Bell TentsAug 2024

It's a very sweet little campsite with plenty of thoughtful charm and a green ethos. Nice touches like a cosy barn. We stayed in an unfurnished bell tent, which I do feel is a bit pricy for what you get. It's quite small, we were a family of 4 and it was tight and going green in places, with slightly dodgy bunting. Plus, you have to pay extra for a fire pit which I feel should definitely be included with the bell tent price. There is also a very noisy small-holding next door and lots of chatty birds around which of course, is out of anyone's control but definitely take ear plugs. Toilets a bit full by the end of the weekend & could defo do with an extra shower as there is just 1. The campsite is in a great area near Hive beach and nice pubs. I would go back, but will bring my own tent next time. Claire, the owner, is lovely.

Site's response

Hi Emma, thanks so much for the kind review and super helpful feedback and our quick chat on whatsapp. You have been not charged for the fire pit and logs as a kind gesture. As updated on our quick chat, it really helps us if we know on site, and then we can always try and help. With the busy holidays in full swing, we are adjusting and sadly we will need to now make our wash up area and toilets area, mandatory that kids need to be supervised by an adult. As for toilets and cleaning, we have events toilets, this is clearly shown across all our sites and socials. Sadly with several cleans a day we are just finding that not everyone is using them properly. They do not get blocked, sadly people are shoving so much toilet paper down, and not clearing up after themselves, it gets stuck, that's all. Certainly not full. With this in mind we have also added another toilet for the rest of the busy season, but please leave tidy. We provide free toilet paper and air freshener. Use them, even a flushing loo can smell when people do their business. Don't be embarrassed, we all have bodily functions, if you get stuck or need help with a clean, come get us. Shower and wash up area. We have one shower clearly listed on all sites. Most eco- and off-grid and general campsites do run without any showers. We will be adding more in the future. We provide free eco and vegan faith by nature products and eco blue roll. Fire pits and logs, why charge for a fire pit and logs? We have found several BBQs have already been broken and we do not make any money on wood. Logs and wood prices are up and we provide only eco hardwood logs that come under the government burns policy. We allow off-the-ground fires and a lot of campsite do not. As for the noise, we operate a quiet site, there is nature and animals so pack the ear plugs. We cant control nature and advise on our confirmation email and T&Cs about our surroundings. In regards to the Bell Tents - All bunting has been replaced already, and at end of season we will upgrade, we are trying out new brands as we are still a relatively new site, and happy to improve and will be increasing sizes and replacing tents end of season. Sadly its not mould, its the birds and seagulls being on the coast, we try and clean as much as we can, but mother nature will do her thing. We really look forward to seeing you again and hope you see improvements next time, we have already had many a returning guest, who are all seeing new and improved areas since last season.
