The pretty town of Callander is just on your doorstep here, also known as the gateway to the Highlands. As well as being a popular base for those exploring the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, the town has a variety of restaurants, tea shops and souvenir shops to discover and also is home to a number of popular walks.

Looking like something out of a fantasy, the stunning waterfalls at Bracklinn Falls make a pretty and rewarding end to any walk. But then, you can hardly strike out with the national park's magical glens, sweeping hills and lochside rambles. You can fish, play a round of golf or sail around on tranquil river cruises, there's something for everyone here.

For somewhere heated and indoors to splash about in, head to McLaren Leisure Centre's impressive 20m pool. There's also a climbing wall and indoor play area and much more to explore.

The little ones will be bowled over by The Hamilton Toy Museum and Collectors Shop and adults will enjoy a tipple and a tour at the nearby Trossachs Distillery.
