About Wardley Hill Campsite

Settled in a valley between Beccles and Bungay, this relaxed and quiet campsite promotes a back to basics camping experience. There are no marked out pitches, so you can choose to pitch your tent where you like, choosing one of the many secret spaces cut into the long grass or perhaps finding a spot nestled among the trees. Motor vehicles aren't allowed into the camping area, so you can kick back and let the kids run around without fear of them running into an SUV, and you won't be woken in the night by headlights illuminating your tent as Bob and Jill return from the pub. Trolleys are provided for you to transport your equipment. For those of you 'too posh to pitch' or if you just fancy something different, there's the Tinkers Hut which has space to sleep five, with a toasty wood burner and beautifully kitted out interior. Or why not stay in the Touareg bell tent with room for up to two adults and two children. Inside you'll find a double bed and two futons, along with solar lighting and tea/coffee facilities. There's even a tree tent option where you can sleep suspended in the trees! Dogs are welcome for a small feel in the Tinkers Hut. Please note, that this site is a quiet site and asks all campers to be courteous of your neighbours.

The grass pitches are available from 17th April to 13th October, while the bell tent is available from 18th July to 7th September. The tree tent and Tinkers hut is open from 17th April to 15th December.

A note from the site themselves...

We love camping but we are generally are not too keen on campsites! We have transformed our former grazing meadow flanked by trees into a site we would actually like to stay on. It's more about what we don't do than what facilities we have. No marked out pitches, no hot tubs, no bar, no cars in the camping field, no clubhouse, and no playground.

Camping for us is about being outside and respectfully enjoying nature. Ditch Spotify and YouTube, light a campfire, sit on the grass and re-set yourselves.

Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent PitchesSep 2024

What a fantastic campsite! If you enjoy seclusion and a slightly eco style of life, then this is a must visit site. Owls hooting in the evening, light of the camp fire and foxes barking at night. The compost loos were clean and nothing to be afraid of and the other 'standard' campsite facility excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our three night stay while completing the coastal path and will definitely come back!
