This site was amazing, very friendly staff and a clean and tidy pitch, pizzas from the on site wood fired pizza restaurant were the best pizzas I’ve ever had, the toilets and facilities were very clean and tidy, it was great to sit with a fire pit and was very quiet after 10:00 My only negative was the site was very stony, there’s a few inches of soil before the stones and tent pegs didn’t like to go in so I would recommend taking better pegs
One night stay, pitch and play, fab

Had a really great time. We booked this as a one night stay as it was close to home and the first time the small grandchildren had camped. The camping field was very spacious and had lovely countryside views and lots of space for the children to run around and play games. It's described as wild camping and it is, although there are outdoor showers which have been made which looked great. I didn't use them personally as we were only there for one night, but someone else in the party did and said it was great. There were also two sinks for pot washing and two sinks for washing/teeth cleaning. The only reason I've given 3 stars for facilities is that it was portaloos and I'm not a great fan - but they were always clean. Although there were lots of people on the site on the night we were there, it was nice and quiet (apart from one of our little ones who woke up in the middle of the night and screamed - sorry). The pitch and play was great as you could access Williams Den on both days - fabulous place and a great fun day out for the children. There is a café/pizzeria there which we used as a take away on the Saturday night and also had a snack at lunchtime on the Sunday before leaving and both were lovely. Will definitely book again. Just one really really tiny thing - a plug for the sinks in the washing up bay would have been great as our washing up bowl was only tiny.

First of all the guy maintaining the tent area is such a nice guy and really nice to chat too, so this review has nothing to do with his efforts at all, he did his best to keep the area as clean and as tidy as he could. For what it cost I wouldn't stay again, the toilets are just individual portaloos and are not very hygienic, the showers and taps were all cold which made it impossible to wash pans, cutlery and get a decent shower and when camping, I believe such simple things are so important. You think you're really paying for the play area at William's Den but be aware, in my opinion, it's very over priced and all closes at around 5pm I think. The area we pitched in was very hard to peg your tent out so please don't go without a mallet. I cannot comment on other areas of the field. For the cost of staying here compared to others around I have been to, I would not return here again.
Really lovely site!

Great little site! No issues whatsoever, clean facilities, hot water, good pitches and no hassles. Lovely little woodland walk on site and having William's Den next door for the kids was an added bonus to keep them entertained.

Overall a wonderful stay for us and another family. Lots of space and it was ideal being so close to a fabulous play area for the kids. We upgraded our camping to pitch and play to include access to William's den all weekend which was well worth it. The staff were friendly and facilities as expected. Only marked down slightly for portaloos which could have been cleaned and emptied a little more during our stay but were generally fine.
Great family site!

Booked for 2 adults and 2 10 year olds. Campsite was easy to get to, toilets, showers and washing stations were clean. Booking in was easy and the staff were helpful. The play and pitch option was value for money as lots to do. My two were maybe a bit old, best suited for younger children.
Loved it

Loved it, although we didn't find the meerkat tree at the end of the woodland walk (this has still got me wondering lol). The whole night was perfect, my kids loved it and we will be back.

Family of 4 stayed for one night. Toilets were very clean and stocked with hand wash, hand moisturiser and paper towels. Can't comment on the showers as we didn't use them. A massive thank you to Andy who was so helpful and friendly. We were first time campers and Andy could see we were struggling putting up our tent. It's safe to say we wouldn't have got it up without him! Thank you Andy. The play area for the children is great. It has both indoor and outdoor areas. Highly recommend the ice-cream and the pizza from the restaurant. We will definitely be returning.
