Merthyr Farm is a family run campsite and working farm ideal for families seeking out peace and quiet in the Snowdonia region. There are stunning views to both mountains and the sea from this dog friendly, tranquil base in the national park. It's just a short drive to a number of stunning beaches, and the Welsh Coastal Path.
About Merthyr Farm Campsite
Located in picturesque coastal scenery overlooking Snowdonia, the farm has been running for more than 40 years. Offering a relaxed setting in which to enjoy the area's natural beauty, the rockpools of Llandanwg beach are a pleasant few minutes' walk - of just five minutes by car. The five kilometre stretch of sand at Harlech is also not far away. There are both electric and non electric grass pitches for both tents and caravans, all of which are levelled on sloping fields. Cook up a fire in fire pits, try a BBQ for your dinner and enjoy the great outdoors. Dogs are welcome on the site.

Things to do on site and in the Harlech area
In addition to the region's fine beaches, there are also plenty of opportunities for walking, whether for a short stroll around the 350 acres of farmland, or something a little more strenuous. Hiking to the top of Moel Sengl offers unbeatable panoramic views, while cycling is another popular local activity.
Harlech boasts a castle, cafés, restaurants, and independent stores for everything from groceries to souvenirs. Llanfair Slate Caverns are also not far away, and you're close to a fun farm park, which has a whole host of activities whatever the weather.
The towns of Portmeirion and Portmadog can be reached either by car or train, with Portmadog being the home of the Ffestiniog Steam Railway, which crosses otherwise unreachable countryside. Snowdon - visible from the farm - is less than an hour's scenic drive.
