Batcombe Vale is a small and friendly campsite in the beautiful rolling hills of Somerset. With stunning scenery, it sits in its own secluded and private 120 acre vale with glades, woods and lakes. Within easy reach of Glastonbury and Frome, the campsite is situated outside Bruton, home to Hauser and Wirth and The Newt. Rowing boats and firebowls are available for you to enjoy and this is a dog friendly site. Fishing for campsite guests too!
About Batcombe Vale Campsite
Escape to this peaceful hideaway nestled in Somerset's green hills. You're more than welcome to explore the 120 acres and enjoy scenic walks along the river with many pathways available. Tents, campervans, motorhomes and trailer tents are all welcome here on 30 grass pitches. Electric hook ups are also available on some of the pitches. Guests also enjoy free use of the site's boating lake. You'll find the lake adjacent to the reception with a selection of colourful boats where you can row or simply float on the lake. Dogs are welcome but must be on a lead and controlled at all times.

Things to do on site and in the Shepton Mallet area
Nature lovers are sure to spot plenty of wildlife during their stay. Head into the woods and you might see woodpeckers, squirrels or even deer.
The site's fields are home to a herd of Friesian cows but also house other birds and butterflies. The lake also attracts many species of water birds.
The site is conveniently located to some great attractions in the area. Hop aboard the East Somerset Railway, visit Cheddar Gorge and explore the caves, or take a tour of the Haynes Motor Museum and Fleet Air Arm Museum.
There are also a number of National Trust locations in the area including Stourhead House and Gardens, Montacute House, Tintinhull Garden, and Lytes Cary Manor.
Trips to the seaside are also an easy option with Weston-super-Mare and Burnham-on-Sea just an hour away.
