Very friendly and helpful

This is a Certified Camp Site so facilities basic, but the location is fantastic in the countryside with long views of the surrounding hills. James was very friendly and helpful, there was everything you could want.

Nice camp

A nice clean campsite, with a nice view around.

Nature at its best

Easy to find. Sited away from the country road - very quiet. A warm welcome by James who was available. Great views over the valley and good parking. Flat plot on the turf with individual water supply. The toilets were close by and were very clean. I really enjoyed my stay.

Must visit

Great place and location. Off the beaten track but quiet and picturesque. Next year promises showers and hot water washing facilities. Will complete the picture. Linda and Malcolm are wonderful hosts.

Wonderful night

We booked last minute for a one night stay, wished we could have stayed longer! The location is lovely with beautiful views, the owners were extremely welcoming and helpful. The campsite was so peaceful and had great facilities. We will definitely be returning in the future!

Fantastic

Malcolm and Linda are amazing. Very welcoming, friendly and professional. The site is located in Shropshire's rolling hills and the view is spectacular. It is very clean and the pitches were spacious and very well spaced out, so you feel that you have your own space an your not on top of each other. There is a communal area, which is topped up with fire wood so you can cook and stay warm. This is one of the best sites I have ever been to.

Beautiful, quiet and peaceful

Lovely campsite, small and quiet. Amazing views. Cattle grazing in view from our tent. We struggled with the code for the gate but the hosts were very helpful and sorted it out, even though it is likely it was something we were not doing right. Fire pit looked great, although we didn't use. Toilets clean and flushing. Genuinely doing everything in as green a way as possible. Stayed with my adult daughter, so not exactly a couple but the closest I could get in descriptors. No nearby shops and no showers but the upside to that was being in such a peaceful environment. Would absolutely recommend.

Amazing view, amazing people

This was our 3rd camping experience in the UK. We loved the warm welcome by Malcolm and the wonderful people that we met. It’s made us feel incredibly at home, even though we were only here for 1 night. The location and especially view were fantastic. We did feel the toilets could be cleaned a bit more regularly. Other than that, we’d highly recommend this place and we hope to be back one day!

We are sorry if you felt the toilets were not up to spec but they are cleaned each day after the daily campers leave and before the next arrivals. I supply a loo brush and toilet rolls are always kept stocked. I supply hand wash and anti bacterial gel and even fresh air blocks. It is not possible to go into the toilets between each user and I have to trust that guests use the facilities provided.

Spring Field in Spring

Small and perfectly formed secluded site tucked away between Acton Burnell and Much Wenlock in the Shropshire countryside. Friendly and helpful owners. Spring meant cuckoos and morning chorus.

First trip out with a toddler

We had a wonderful first tentative step into camping with our toddler last weekend here at the Spring Fields dark sky site. The site was lovely, small and cosy, kept very well, everything you need was close by and the setting was amazing. With beautiful views looking down over the Shropshire countryside, brilliant for watching sunsets, and gorgeous bluebell carpeted woodland on site it was the perfect place to dip our toe in. What really made it special were the wonderful hosts who made us feel right at home and even brought out lemon drizzle cake for pudding. We look forward to our next visit and would recommend to anyone looking for a few days away from the city.

Spring Field

A beautiful, quiet and idyllic location. If you're looking for somewhere out of the way for a break, this is ideal. Hosts Malcolm and Linda were fantastic. They were available for any of your needs or questions. Linda especially was an exceptional host. (The eggs were delicious by the way Linda, thank you for the little run out) I would recommend and will be returning in the summer.

Excellent site

Excellent site and beautiful view. Wish we could have stayed longer. Very ecologically aware. Be aware that if you have a hook-up and use electric heating, then it will drain their resources. We were off grid. Very nice hosts.

Peaceful and quiet site

Perfect peaceful and quiet site. Lovely hosts, Malcolm and Linda, and fantastic views, will be visiting again. Unfortunately no shower, but no major issue that. Highly recommend if this is what you're looking for.

Campervan and small tent stay

What a beautiful location for a campsite! Definitely appropriately named 'Dark Skies'. Fortunate to have a clear spell to see the stars before the rain and wind came! Really enjoyed our stay in our campervan and friends were in a small tent. Everything provided was five star. Toilet very clean and hot water in sink, light sensors in the toilet, washing up facilities and electric hook up. Malcolm and Linda, the owners, were very helpful and friendly. They answered numerous queries before we booked. Will definitely visit again when weather is better. Great place though for our maiden trial with the van. Thank you for making us so welcome Malcolm and Linda 😊

Perfect

Lovely high setting/location. Great outdoor BBQ/fire pit area. Very friendly hosts, super clean (and nice smelling!) toilet block - everything we wanted.

Amazing views, beautiful area

We booked one night here as part of our return leg to Kent. We loved it. From the field you get impressive views across a valley and a wide panoramic view. We met Malcolm and he has done many things over the years to reduce their carbon footprint and certainly not green-wash. We would be delighted to stay again and can recommend highly. We had a late afternoon/ early evening meal at The Riverside Inn with incredible views over the river. There was a fire pit towards the centre of the camping field, a reasonable distance from the pitches around the perimeter and we could imagine a great place to chill with friends. A number of electric hook up points and fresh water taps are located conveniently around the perimeter of the camping field. Separate open air wash up facilities.

A good, quiet, basic camping experience

We were welcomed at the gate by the owners, who were a wonderful couple, and we were given a brief rundown of the site and facilities and left to get on with our weekend. The site is secluded, quiet and dark at night, just what we wanted. There are no showers or washing facilities, only a couple of sinks with cold water. We used the communal fire pit with wood purchased on site, this was fantastic and we met some very nice fellow campers and had a great weekend break.

Lovely!

Unbeatable! We were passing through, so only stayed one night. We were welcomed at the gate so had the pick of sites with a lovely view across the valley, and loved it. Next time we'll stay longer and take advantage of the super-size fire pit.

Nice and quiet

It is a nice and quiet camping pitch right beside a field of cute cows. Really appreciated the free Wi-Fi which was really fast. The park has a very cute shared firepit that is free of use which we also loved. I really recommend this campsite.

Best place I have ever stayed by a mile

If you're looking for a short stay and peace then this is perfect. The views are amazing and the site is very welcoming. The owners were unbelievable and made it perfect. Seriously, the owners are so sociable and helpful. We even got some amazing left over lemon cake from a batch that was too big and it was given as a treat. They were so nice to my kids. I WILL go back. Wow what a clean ,polite, peaceful place. Ps. I never do reviews but this needed to be said.

Amazing site

Best views and the campsite was well looked after. We were made very welcome by the hosts, and was given all information including places to visit and eat. The weather was against us, so didn't get to see the clear skies. We will definitely be returning.
