Things to do on site and in the Isle Of North Uist area
The beautiful sandy beach only 40m from the entrance is great for walking, paddling, swimming, kayaking and kite surfing.
An RSPB Nature Trail passes the campsite and takes approx two hours to walk. May is the best month for seeing corncrakes but bird lovers can also see lots of wading birds such as the oystercatcher, lapwing, redshank and dunlin.
There are many birds of prey, too, from short eared owls to white tailed sea eagles and hen harriers - all hunting regularly over the surrounding croft land.
The Dunes Cabin serves delicious home made soups, bacon rolls, sandwiches and home baking from May to August, which is perfect for refuelling after you've had a mosey. The custard creams and chocolate cake are legendary!
