This quiet coastal site has grass pitches suitable for tents, motorhomes and small caravans with the option of an electric hook up. For glamping, there is a small pod available.

About Barra Sands Campsite
A family friendly site welcoming visitors who have come to explore the remote island's land and sea. The campsite is just a ten minute walk from the beach and offers glorious views over the white sandy bay and its crystal blue water. Being on such a tranquil island, the site it an ideal place to escape and unwind. The campsite welcomes tents, motorhomes, campervans and caravan campers. For those travelling alone, there are individual grass tent pitches available. For those travelling in twos, there are grass camping and touring pitches available, both with the option of electric. The pitches are all positioned to have either views of the blue sandy bay, or the glorious hills. If you don't want to have to worry about bringing your accommodation with you, try out the site's pod. Sleeping four, the pod has a small double sofa bed, a single bunk bed, microwave, kettle and fridge. Toilet and shower facilities are just a ten second walk away. The site sits at the north of the island, only a five minute drive from the airport. Taking only 25 minutes to get to the most southerly point, you will be able to explore all the island has to offer. Dogs are welcome, please inform the site beforehand.

Things to do on site and in the Eoligarry area
This site is ideal for those wanting to explore the remote island's rugged landscapes and dramatic coastlines. With only 1000 inhabitants on the whole island, it is an ideal escape if you want to get away from everyday life and be at one with nature.
Either relax on site and take in the views over the bay, head down to the beach for a swim or put on your hiking boots and explore the uninhabited hills.
Something the island is know for is it's airport. Just a five minute drive from the site, the airport is known for being the only one in the world that uses a tidal beach as its runway. There is also a cafe where you can enjoy a spot of lunch as you watch the planes fly in.
For something different, get a boat out to Kisimul Castle in the sea, just a five minute trip from Castle Bay. Sitting in the middle of the water, Kisimul is the only surviving medieval castle in the Outer Hebrides islands.
