It was our first outing in our camper. Very impressed with the site and the facilities. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for peace and quiet.

Had a lovely stay, the staff were very friendly. The toilets and showers were a little dirty, but the weather was not great, so difficult to maintain I would think.

Site was lovely, the restaurant bar and games room was excellent. The pool was clean, as was the site. Only thing we found was the showers are pretty grubby! We would stay again but would avoid the showers at all costs!

Lovely site with views over the river and marina. Good facilities with bar and swimming pool on site. Just be aware of the narrow road to the site.

Good site, shame about the access roads

The site has a great outlook from the pitches looking over the moorings to the river. The pitches are reasonably level, I just needed to use a few inches of ramp to level left to right. The pitches had electricity, water and grey waste, all reasonably accessible. They are a little narrow, if you use an awning you will not get your car on the pitch as well. They have hedges all round and these were trimmed. The toilets were okay and acceptable cleanliness. The only real downside, which is not a fault of the campsite, is the access roads. These are a single lane with very few passing places, so you find yourself praying that you do not meet another car coming the other way. They also have hedges and bushes encroaching on the road. You are going to get scratches on your windows and caravan sides, there is almost no avoiding it. A good site as long as you don't mind spending time polishing out all the scratches afterwards.

Well, just got home from being here and have already booked to come back. We could not fault the whole thing, not even if I wanted to be fickle could I find something that needed improvement. Site = brilliant; facilities = brilliant; scenery = brilliant. Meant to take pictures of the site but unfortunately forgot, but did take pictures of the view.

Staff - 10/10. Location fabulous. On site shop great and the Inn was brilliant. The swimming pool was the icing on the cake, the temperature of the pool was perfect, thank you. Only points we have are that hedges could be better trimmed at the back of the pitch, was tricky to get to the electric/water. Shower block extractors not working and the showers were very dark inside. The block could do with an upgrade. Maybe put drain cleaner down all the sinks in the toilet block and shower block. All smells a bit damp and the air freshener makes it smell worse, I'd rather small some bleach or bathroom cleaner than the air freshener. Otherwise, just great and everyone was so helpful.
A great site to take in the wildlife and visit the marshes

We had a lovely few days at Waveney River Centre with a pitch with a peaceful view of the river and marshes only about 300 yards away. Peaceful from 02 Sept, when we stayed. Prior to this, I hear it is very busy and noisy children, but that might be what you are looking for. We are keen river walkers and were surprised, as were many people, that you cannot walk along the river in either directions and can only walk up to roads away from the river or around the site, as there are no paths with access either way along the river or to the marshes. A ferry to Carlton Marsh, just a very short hop in the boat that is operated by the centre, this wasn't running from Monday to Wednesday and on Thursday, it was too windy until later in the day, but we completely understand this. It is about 30 minutes drive to Lowestoft or to access Oulton Broad or Carlton Marsh from the other side, which is well worth a visit, with very well mapped out paths around the Marsh. We will recommend to friends and look forward to returning.

All lovely. Booked last minute and was concerned there were spaces in August. Wanted a couple more days in the van before end or school holidays. So glad we did. Took the dog with us too and I'm sure she agreed. Only downside was the taps in the female toilet blocks, they literally spray everywhere. Once we got wise and used the disabled sink, it was fine. Also got confused about the showers. There was a big block with showers but all had a keypad on. Was worried and didn't have code. Checked everywhere for a code in our welcome pack. After checking with reception the next day, they open different ones at different times and no code was needed. Beautiful space, well looked after. Definitely recommend.

Unfortunately, my disappointment started on the road coming in to Waveney River Centre. I don't think I've ever had to hold my breath for that long! There are two roads that access the site, both single track roads, Staithe Road was apparently worse than Burgh Road (1.7 miles) which is the one I took. Yes, there are passing places but not big enough for two caravans to pass. My caravan is a small two birth and there was no room on either side. Thankfully, on the way in, nothing was coming the other way until I was nearer the entrance of the site. However, after 3 sleepless nights, I left a day early as I was worried what the journey out would be like, I came up against two cars, a truck with a boat on the back, a tractor and a quad bike that came out of nowhere! The cars and boat had to reverse back nearly 200m, it was a scary experience and had I have known about the roads, I wouldn't have gone. I spoke to the receptionist as I thought I had taken a wrong turn, but she said that was the only way in and they stagger check in/out times because of this. However, boats are in and out of the site all day. The site itself is nice looking over the Marina, pub was nice but very pricey and staff didn't smile at me once. There are no walks around the area, or none that I found, so if you wanted to go somewhere, it was a 25 min car journey. I didn't use the shower facilities as I have my own and didn't use the pool so can't comment on those. Overall, very pricey for what it is at £42 a night!

We had a lovely two night break, apart from a very rainy day on the Saturday. Great club house with pool table and board games. Facilities (showers/toilets/washing up room) were all very clean with hot water. The only thing which would stop me returning is there was nowhere to walk to, we were hoping to walk along the beautiful river but you couldn't, so we felt a bit trapped. Unless there were walks we missed, but I tried very hard to find some! If you don't like walking, I'd recommend!

We loved our stay here looking out over the Marina. The swimming pool, not to forget the games' room and the restaurant which served superb meals. We will come again. We also enjoyed visiting Beccles and Caister-on-Sea.

We had a lovely welcome from the lady in the reception and it was easy to find our pitch. We liked the fact that each Kingfisher hardstanding pitch had trees or bushes each side, to make it that bit more private. There was plenty of space for our Transit and awning, as well as we sat outside and had a BBQ, looking across the marina to the river and the rising moon. We didn't use the indoor pool although this is included in the price, as it was only open from 9 until 4 and we would have liked an early evening swim after being out on the river all day paddleboarding, so we can not comment on the little swimming pool. The gentleman down at the river was very helpful and friendly. He gave us information about the tides and how long roughly to Oulton Broad or the other way towards Beccles. We paddled to Oulton Broad in an afternoon, there and back, very pretty. We attempted to paddle board to Beccles the following morning, but the wind was against us and only managed a mile and a half, which wasn't even half way, so found somewhere to have a picnic. You can get a ferry across to a reserve (Carlton Marshes) for £4 return, which ran from 10:15 to 15:15 on a Sunday I believe, but we only watched it go across the river, while sitting by the rivers edge watching the kingfishers go past. We had breakfast in the Inn on our last morning, which was £12 large full English and £9 small English, which was very nice and saves washing up. Washing up, well only 3 out of the 6 sinks worked or had plugs and not very hot water and the lighting was very bad, we had to use our phone torch to see what we were doing. The loo's at the top of the park were ok, although the taps got you wet more than your hands, and although we did see a lady cleaning the showers on the Monday morning, she was cleaning the lights outside and the doors and walk way, I'm not sure if a different person cleaned the inside, but I'm guessing they were ill or away themselves on holiday. That aside, we enjoyed our weekend away by the river, chilling and launching our paddleboards. Make sure you have a river licence (Paddle UK) as they do check.

One of our main reasons for going to this campsite was for the fishing. Unfortunately there was only one spot that you could actually fish from. So unless you are the only fisherman on site for the whole of your stay, you don't get the chance to fish. On a positive note, the staff were very friendly and the restaurant served up some delicious meals.

So friendly, restaurant food was lovely and great service. Site was clean and well laid out. Maybe some additional play equipment for little ones in the park. Will definitely be returning for a longer stay as we just tested out new MH for one night somewhere local.

Had a wonderful stay at Waveney River Centre, only thing which could do with improvements is the cleanliness of the showers and toilets, felt like they needed cleaning need everyday. Overall, had a wonderful weekend.

The access road is somewhat challenging and the hedge rows are in desperate need of trimming resulting in scratches to the side of our Motorhome but once arrived the site is excellent. The hire restaurant serves up excellent food at competitive prices. Don't understand why it was so quiet in August but maybe there's too much emphasis on lodges.

The site was very scenic and well maintained being set alongside the marina and the River Waveney. Only the hard standing pitches were being used while we were there, although there were plenty of grass pitches too. The hardstanding pitches were very tightly packed in and a squeeze to move around the side of our van and tent which also meant that you could hear everything too - despite a hedge being between us. The pitches didn't allow for cars to park alongside a tent/caravan set up so again we had other peoples cars on grass in front of our pitch blocking the view of the marina. On a positive note, the whole site was well maintained, children's play area looked good (although we didn't have any children with us). We did use the swimming pool which was very welcome. The Waveney Inn was on site, which would save driving miles to the nearest alternative. All staff we met were very friendly and helpful. The site is accessed via very narrow and long roads and I'd hate to drive anything bigger than a VW camper down them. To go anywhere from the site, there is a long detour round, especially if heading easterly towards Lowestoft or Great Yarmouth as the River Waveney cuts you off from the coast side. It was fine for us as we were only there 3 nights, but probably a bit annoying if staying longer.
