Frittenden Orchard is a peaceful site with a relaxed atmosphere, set on a fruit farm in the Kent countryside, just five minutes from Staplehurst. A back to basics site boasting spacious grass pitches set amidst fruit orchards. Surrounded by 11 acres of woodland. The host, Diane, greeted me and showed me around her lovely site. Formerly the family orchard business, she now welcomes guests to camp. There was a hard standing area for RVs and campers. I took my LR Defender onto the field and parked amongst the fruit trees. Road at the entrance is quite busy at times but compared to home in London, it was great. Lovely walk from back of site through fields and into Frittenden where there is a pub if desired.
Site's response
Thank you for your lovely review Andrew. Yes, there was a lot of traffic during your one night stay. Unfortunately, the road through Sissinghurst is closed, due to roadworks. Although there is a signed diversion, the route past the campsite seemed a better option for most. The roadworks will be finished by 7/10/24 and peace and quiet will resume 🙂

Lovely site, everything was close and easy to get to. Toilet facilities were very clean and well-kept and the hostess/owner couldn't have been more friendly and welcoming, what a lovely lady. Added bonus, was she sold me some of the farm-kept eggs for breakfast at a great price and they were the best I'd had since I can remember! No shower facilities but I wasn't bothered about that...all in all would recommend for a relaxed and secluded getaway. A star and thumbs up! :)

We enjoyed our stay because it had plenty of space around the tents, it was very quiet and had clean toilets. Diane was very helpful, there were free range eggs for sale from her hens. We had a small dog and there was a lovely wood behind the site to walk, with a village pub not far away.

A warm, friendly welcome at this peaceful site. So much space and very quiet. A choice of 3 toilets but no showers, but reflected in the price. We had a wonderful time the only thing I would change would be to add a mirror in two of the toilets. I would stay again.

We absolutely loved our stay here. Perfect for a night or two. Host Diane was very welcoming and gave us lots of advice for local walking routes and the local pub, Bell and Jarrow, is a must! Friendly hosts, beautiful traditional old pub with delicious food. Campsite is well located. We did a wonderful walk down to Sissinghurst Castle and Gardens.

The lady that ran this site was lovely, gave us a tour and showed us lots of different spots we could camp in. Very clean toilets and pot wash facilities, chickens to say hello to and trampolines to play on (probably for children but we enjoyed nonetheless!). Would definitely come back.

Great location for a short stay, more toilets and showers would be needed for a longer stay but ample for 1 or 2 nights. There is so much space on site, nobody was near us! The owner was lovely too.

Lovely stay amongst the Orchard. Great walk to the pub (approx 20 mins) across open fields. Hilly towards the bottom end of the campsite but can manipulate chocks to get even level. Very quiet, friendly staff and adequate facilities.

The location is perfect for relaxing from the stressful day to day grind. Bird song mixed with star gazing, sheer bliss. Diane, the host, is really accommodating and makes you very welcome. We went for a 2 night break but wish we had booked longer. There are all the facilities you need, from toilets to being able to charge your phone.

We had a lovely stay. Diane was very nice and helpful, nice and chatty. The orchard is well kept. There is plenty of space so your not parked on top of each other. Some lovely walks into the woods and across the fields. Just really relaxing.

Very friendly host, amazing clean toilets and kitchen facilities, and very thoughtful touches like the nice trolleys to use to move gear from car to tent (since we didn't want to drive on the grass as we don't have a 4x4) and carpet tiles to place at the entrance to our tents. Beautiful quiet orchard and amazing birdsong to wake up to.
