Absolutely loved this site, we wished we could have stayed longer but already had other sites booked. Would 100% visit again. The entertainment at night was fab for kids and on par with a holiday park. Disco, bingo and a family quiz. Food was lovely in the restaurant. There is a pool but as we only stayed 1 night, we didn't get chance to use it. Lovely walk in the forest, great facilities for children.

What a lovely holiday park, its well laid out, plenty of space, the pitches are huge and you are surrounded by trees and greenery. The facilities are excellent, fairly new I guess with a modern look & feel. The activities are great, plenty to do and see. We hired bikes from the campsite and cycled a 14-mile loop through the Forest of Dean, it's also prime location for Go Ape and the Forest of Dean Railway. Not sure how it will look & feel in the heart of summer when its full, but I'm hoping its spacious enough not to feel crowded. The food was excellent and the service good. The entertainment was just right for us and they offer themed evenings/weekends with entertainment. The toilets, showers and general site was very clean and tidy. A little gem of a campsite!

It was a nice site with plenty to do, but the roads to and from Monmouth were narrow and winding, so not the best caravan towing road, I am new to towing and I managed. Some of the pitches do need a really long power lead, we were told they changed some pitch layout/positions but haven't moved the power points. They did lend me an extra lead to use for extension. The shower block was nice and clean, the food was lovely from the restaurant (a little over priced) and the terrace is dog friendly. We had the dogs with us so did not try any of the leisure facilities, but the people we spoke to said it was good. There was direct access in to the Forest of Dean, so plenty of walking options.

The staff were really helpful and knowledgeable - always super polite. Loved the swimming pool - warm, clean, not overcrowded, also had lifeguards, a welcome surprise that's included in the price. The shop was very small but has been very well thought out in terms of type of stock (common sense items) and prices. Toilets and bars were clean and managed well. Plenty of walks, steam railway, biking available. The only thing that was a nightmare was the site Wi-Fi which only worked a fraction of the time, which may be a problem unless sorted. They are trying to sort it out and improve it, but I struggled to do any work or keep in contact with the outside world. I would worry if there was a medical emergency to raise an alarm.
Great stay!

Amazing site, we have had a wonderful four day break. The facilities were excellent and staff were friendly. The facilities are managed well and the site is maintained well. Can't complain about anything. We will most certainly be back!

This campsite was perfect for what we wanted and booked last minute. Although the site is aimed at younger children, my teenage children enjoyed walking around the area and used the swimming pool and not needing to go with an adult was perfect for me. It felt completely safe even in the evening. Can't wait to go back and try the lodges.

This site is fantastic. There is so much to do on site and plenty to do locally too. The location is wonderful and you can wander straight into woodland. Great if you have a dog and there are dog wash spots/stations too. There are also bike wash stations. Great cycle friendly site-recommended to take a bike lock. There is plenty to do to keep little ones entertained; this can be done on a budget easily or there are lots of 'add ons' that you can indulge in should you wish to. There is a wide range of activities on offer and there's evening entertainment on offer should you wish to indulge/partake. A great timetable for you to have a look at and guide you through various options. Camping spots are generous and there are lots of friendly staff on hand to support. Picnic areas, BBQ bricks, well resourced additional extras. Everything is well maintained. Only negative was a lack of hair dryers. If you plan to use the pool, bring 20p for the dryers and £1 for the lockers. A quality campsite that we shall return to and we are people who always endeavour to try new places and don't make returns in a bid to explore a little more. This will be the exception. Thank you Whitemead for a wonderful stay.
Nice enough, staff could be friendlier

We had a great time. It's a stunning location and you can cycle easily on to the FoD cycle trails and to the cycle centre. The swimming pool was nice enough - surprisingly murky under water when you wear goggles! It's 1.2m across the whole pool, with a very small shallow (0.6m) pool attached. 1.2m is a bit hard for kids who can swim enough not to want to wear armbands, but aren't tall enough to touch the bottom. Bar staff were very unfriendly when ordering food/drinks. They were more interested in talking to each other than serving customers. The food is poor, especially considering it's quite expensive. My £15 burger came already cut through the middle was poor. The "street food" was better quality and better value than the meals. It's is a lovely location though and we would definitely go back - but we'd be cooking for ourselves or going out to eat elsewhere. Wi-Fi was non-existent most of the time. Although it showed that you were "connected", we couldn't even send/receive basic emails or WhatsApp messages.

We had a lovely stay. Facilities & location great. We were slightly disappointed we didn't receive a welcome pack this time. We did last time, so I didn't pack washing up liquid/cloths etc, so had to purchase some.

We stayed at Whitemead to celebrate my partner's 40th birthday. There were about 25 of us and every single person commented on what an amazing campsite it was with many saying it was the best they'd ever been to. There were activities for everyone of all ages and the kids had such a great time. We saw so many children enjoying the freedom to explore the camp site which felt safe and secure. We would love to return!

Had a lovely long weekend break with family and friends. Site is in a beautiful location with lots of walks suitable for young children. The facilities on site are great and kept everyone entertained. Was a bit sceptical about pitching up on gravel but was fine and less bugs around than on a grass pitch. Would return. .

We stayed on the meadow camp site which we couldn't fault. We really enjoyed our stay, there is one but! I booked this site so we could use the gym but it's not much of a gym, there were running machines, cross country machines and a couple of dumbbells and that's it. The fog walk was awesome.

Although we had a short stay, we found the site excellent. Great food every time we had a meal in the restaurant, brilliant helpful staff, great facilities and importantly to us, everything was very clean. Thank you for a great, relaxing break.

We had a lovely stay. The park is in a great location and the facilities were just what we were after. It was peaceful and quiet when we wanted it. Had nice walks and lovely pods. At night, there was entertainment and a lively bar when we wanted it too. Nice local pubs within walking distance. The food onsite was good and large portions. The pool and spa facilities were good. All the staff were really friendly and helpful. We had no change for the locker, so were loaned a £1 coin. We had no phone charger and this was also loaned.

All staff here were very helpful and friendly. If you want a place to stay if you have children, or just as a couple, then I will highly recommend Whitemead. The facilities were great, as was the food, oh and the alcohol too. The walks around the Forest of Dean were excellent and the views amazing.

Good site with great facilities for kids with a swimming pool and outdoor play, however there was scope for improvement. We found that the Wi-Fi signal was non-existent (when connected it didn't work and dropped out), and the phone signal was limited on Three and EE. This made it very difficult to do anything that required a phone or internet. This was super disappointing given we had hoped it would be great, to allow daytime play and evening work. The facilities weren't clean in the morning after the night before. I thought they offered a kids club - one of the reasons for booking, but there was no kids club and all kids activities required a parent to attend. We will return, but I hope they resolve these issues.
