Welcoming members of the Greener Camping Club, this is an environmentally friendly site set in a calm and peaceful location, with minimal noise to make the most of the outdoors. Members are automatically enrolled in the club's 'Trees for Life' scheme, planting a single tree with each new membership. Pitches cater to tents and tourers and are spread out across 12 acres, with views towards the River Thames. A set of luxury bell tents is suited to glampers and includes their own picnic table and fire pit. Campfires are encouraged and locally sourced firewood can be found onsite, with practically zero carbon impact. Things to do on site and in the Tilbury area
Both the Coalhouse Fort and Thameside Nature Discovery Park are in easy reach from the site and offer plenty of nature walks, local history, and an abundance of wildlife to see.
There's fishing to be had in the Thames, crabbing at the fort, as well as local horse riding and air rifle shooting ranges. You'll also find a range of footpaths to explore - why not head towards the ferry where Emperor Claudius pursued the Britons and take a trip to Kent?
The sea wall defences surrounding Tilbury Fort offers fishing, with a chance to catch Flatfish, Whiting and Cod. Whale watching is also popular here - you may be lucky and see Benny the Beluga, who has been sighted here!
Other local attractions include:
- Jeskyns Community Woodland
- Cyclopark
- RSPB Cliffe Pools
