Things to do on site and in the Okehampton area
Heaps of outdoorsy pursuits are easily found right around the site, like the hiking trails and horse riding of Dartmoor. The site provides easy access to the moors via an easy off road path and is close to the Granite Way with cycle hire within 100 yards.
There's also golfing and fishing in the nearby countryside. Golf courses are available in Okehampton, Tavistock and Launceston and there are fishing lakes within a short distance of Bundu.
If a beach is what you're seeking, try sunbathing or surfing north of the site at Bude and Widemouth bay.
The old stannery town and Francis Drake's birthplace of Tavistock, within a short drive, are always well worth a visit. Morwellham Quay, the old copper mine is an interesting day out as is the National trust's Drogo Castle.
Nearby Lydford Gorge, the valley carved into hard Dartmoor Rock, is the deepest gorge in England's South West and a popular pick throughout the year for its 100 ft high White Lady waterfall and the Devil's Cauldron whirlpools. It's very exhilarating to hear the roar of nature!
