A very big site, ideal for children. Facilities looking tired and shop had very little stock.

Lovely site. Great facilities. No phone signal, and the WiFi didn't work though.

Although a large site, it was a lovely, peaceful site with everything geared towards children. For us, this was great as we took our 2 grandsons aged 6 and 10. Took them swimming twice which you have to book, but this stops the pool being overcrowded. Water lovely and warm and changing facilities immaculately clean. Nightly entertainment available, the only downside during our stay was that the restaurant was not open due to unforeseen circumstances?

First time staying at Stowford. We stayed electric grass pitch. Good location, close to play area, swimming pool, food trucks, club house. The shower block was lovely and clean. The shop on site had everything you needed if you had forgotten anything. I have put a 3 star for facilities as I think it was unfair to charge to use the swimming pool - £3.75 each. The crazy golf was also £3.50 each I understand that. The club house was very small compared to the size of the campsite. You had to be there early to get a seat. Overall, a very good campsite, just these little things let it down. I would return.
Nice site with plenty to do, but extremely un-level pitches

Arrived on Sunday but reception was closed. Paper stuck to a door to inform you of your pitch number. Got to our pitch to find we were behind the shower block (no view) and right next to recycling bins. Not ideal for a 2 week stay. Called number provided on map but no response (suppose this was because it was Sunday). Monday morning, went to reception to request change to nearby pitch away from bins. Lovely lady managed to move us, which we appreciated. Would have been nice to receive an email in advance to inform us of the arrival procedure. I was walking around for 5 mins trying all the doors to find someone. Majority of the pitches are un-level, so need to take plenty of options to ensure you can have a level caravan. However, views from most of the site are lovely (we were in BP5). Shower block 5 was lovely, plenty of toilets and warm showers. Always clean and tidy. Site nicely lit at night. Plenty of activities onsite. We went to swimming pool (extra charge & pre-bookable), riding stables (extra charge), good size shop selling essentials, chip shop and food vendors available every night. Crazy golf on-site as well. No petting zoo. Arcades were not open - sign said coming soon. Couple of bars (which have pool tables) and evening entertainment each night. We didn't go to the evening entertainment so can't comment. Ideally placed to visit local attractions, such as Woolacombe and Ilfracoombe. Easy access on to site, even for our 8 foot wide caravan. Would recommend and stay at again.

All really great. Loads of facilities. Toilet block wasn't the cleanest as two fields were using it due to an issue with a block in another field. However, well kept site. Would have got 5 stars if toilets were cleaner.

Only real issue was the toilet blocks. Unsure as to why people can’t leave them as they expect to find them.

Staff were excellent, Lovely camp for families with younger children. Toilet and shower facilities were plentiful and cleaned regularly. Good size pitches with plenty of space. Entertainment included for those that like that. However, everything on site was overpriced including bar, shop, chip shop. Crazy golf and swimming £3.75 per person. Placed near play park and club, so noisy even after dark.

We stayed here 2 years ago and really enjoyed it, unfortunately this time wasn't nearly as good. They used to have a petting zoo here, but that has gone, which I understand as the upkeep must have been rather big, but they have replaced it with an arcade. This wasn't even open when we went, and you just know since its on private land they are going to jack up the lose percent. The place just felt way more money grabby, and not as friendly or welcoming as last time. The chip shop for example, was way overpriced and it was awful, couldn't even finish it. They forgot part of the order and we had to go back. The bar was overpriced also (a small fruit shoot was around £2), I get they must make a profit but really just felt like they took advantage. Most of the stuff didn't seem very friendly, just disinterested and kind of grumpy, no friendly hellos or anything ever, which wasn't like that last time, just felt like it lost its charm and its a shame. The facilities were still nice and clean, and they whole park did seem to be kept in order, although a lot of the patches are uneven, so if your in a tent you might wake up feeling a bit dizzy since you on slanted ground (and there is no discount for a slanted patch). You have to travel a fair bit to get to anything good or entertaining, but I guess the beach isn't too far, but the closest supermarket or shop is a good 20 min or so drive. They do have entertainment in the evening which was okay, but like I said, they have raised the price of the drinks.

We got stuck in traffic on the way to the campsite which meant we arrived at 9pm. This would have been enough time to get our tent up and settled before the sun came down, but when we arrived, our name was not on the "late arrivals" board so we didn't have a pitch. There are lots of staff members on site but none of them, seemingly, could help. I stood in the bar for 35 minutes waiting for someone to tell me where we could set up, by which time the sun had gone down and we had to do it in the dark, being told we might have to move in the morning. Hence, service I have marked down. Other than this, the site itself is located well with some lovely woodland and farmland walks from the site. It's really geared for families. I didn't realise we would have to pay for the pool, someone advised us that it was fully booked throughout our stay so we didn't get to use it. We also didn't use the mini golf and only saw it being used once. The shop is fantastic, really well priced, some lovely baked goods and the staff in the shop were super friendly. The facilities were always clean and there was a good system for rubbish and BBQ waste but no recycling bins that I could find. The pitches are really spacious and perfect for large family groups travelling together. I would consider staying here again, and recommend others to stay here, but if I do I'll be calling to ensure I have a pitch ready before arriving.

We stayed for 10 nights with our 3 children. It's suitable for families but it's a very noisy site the quiet of cut off point is 11pm which is for a campsite and there was still noise until the early hours. I did report this to the office but still the same every night. The showers are very small and the water is very hot for young ones, there are no family bathrooms on site. You need to pay for swimming which is pretty poor. The staff at the swimming pool and office were always lovely and polite. The pitch itself was a good space. Recycling wasn't around on the other side of pitch so only in one area. I felt that it needed to be spread out as people don't want to walk to recycle, so it was dumped in the bin. It was a clean site. Mixed feelings of site, we probably won't be staying again.

I have only give one stars for parts of my review because on the first day of our stay, the parlour café shut and did not provide eateries as advertised, only chip shop or pizza which, for us, was unacceptable. Due to this, we left our holiday after 4th day. Extremely disappointed.

Great level pitch for amazing price. Wi-Fi in tents too was a big plus. Clean toilets, loads of showers and nice staff. Definite downside was that loads of facilities advertised, but nothing was open. Apparently, entertainment only in summer holiday, swimming pool open but very limited hours. Stables closed, arcade closed, cafe closed. Then we went to the bar which was cash only, so no one could buy anything. Weirdly enough, the card machine worked in shop and swimming pool.

Last weekend in June, which I appreciate is not high season, but this site had very limited services open. Bar open only for a couple of hours each day. On a Saturday night, there was only one person serving at the bar, taking drink & food orders so there was a crazy queue! Went home. No entertainment. Coffee shop serving cream teas was shut. Fish and chip shop shut on Friday night. Pizza van shut all over the weekend. Swimming pool had no lifeguard at all times. Swimming session had to be booked. Very disappointed.

The campsite is very well-organised for both children and adults. Facilities are in the centre points of each field and you can find very well-stocked farm shop and pubs/restaurants with delicious food and drinks served, right next to reception at the top of the campsite. The location is perfect if you prefer one day trips to various places - both countryside or coastal ones. These trips take you no more than 20 minutes. Overall I would recommend this place and I will definitely be back again. One thing which I would change is to convert a few showers in each facility building to built-in manual mixers, where you can set up water temperature, because right now there's a touch sensor with one water temperature set up.
Easter half term - left early

We arrived on Sunday, only to be told that there was no more entertainment that month, despite there being a week of the school holidays left. Everything else activity wise was a chargeable amount, including the pool. This I could understand, but it became a very expensive time for adults, paying for things like the pool and the petting zoo, when we weren't even part of the experiences. I think there could have been a reduced fee for supervising adults. There was also nothing really for teenage children to do, so we ended up leaving 4 days early. A very expensive holiday for just a pitch with no real activities included.

Great location to access loads of places for days out. Not our usual kind of site, we really enjoyed it, the bar was a plus and the pool was good too.

Great welcome in reception. Very good site facilities - heated pool, pub / restaurant , café and petting zoo. An immaculately maintained site. We felt a bit let down by the dated toilet block with no combined toilet / shower cubicles. The toilets took a bit of work to flush and those little square sheets of toilet paper fall mainly on the floor. We felt the shower cubicles were a bit small, so keeping your clothes dry was a challenge, but it was immaculately kept nevertheless.

We are sad to hear that Petorama may not remain on site. This would be a mistake as this was a huge draw for me and the family.
