Motorhome - Electric Grass PitchesOct 2024

Great site, very clean and well maintained. Owners very helpful as we got stuck getting off the pitch. Views fantastic, no shower or toilet facilities, but the views made up for that. Also great walk to local village, all very clean.

Lovely clean and friendly campsite

Twin Axle Caravan - Electric Grass PitchesMar 2024

Lovely location and clean look - would come back if a bathroom block and hot water installed It is rare to meet lovelier hosts than Lucy and Martin. They bent over backwards to be helpful and they are unfailingly patient and kind. Not only did they wait up for us when we got in late (and basically valeted us into our pitch) but they also were delightful in buying us bread in the morning from the bakery, knowing that we had got in late and would have little in the way of breakfast. This site is relatively new, modern in a tasteful way - spare timber buildings and clean lines, immaculate lawns and shrubs, and in warm sunny weather with less mud, and assuming your caravan has no problems, it is a heavenly spot. It is also perfectly located - walkable to St Agnes town by path, yet with stunning panoramic sea views and the real sense that you are in nature. Our issue was that we had a leak in our caravan and could not use our water with ease, and so with no bathroom block were in a bit of a fix. With Lucy and Martin's help, we cobbled a repair (no one available to fix our problem over a bank holiday weekend, obvs), and made it work. We came knowing full well there were no bathroom facilities, but we had understood that there was a laundry and washing up sink - which is actually more important than a bathroom for us as we cook a lot and are a family of 5, so accumulate a lot of dishes. What we found problematic was the lack of hot water (which apparently is to be plumbed in at some point) in the laundry block and as a result, had to do all our washing up in our tiny caravan sink. It is impossible to remove grease from cups and dishes without warm water. This meant we had to constantly refill our aqua roll and empty our grey water (in the rain!). Not only this, the laundry did not dry at all on the laundry racks, as the room was not heated, so it was hard to dry our beach gear. Our caravan was a mess of dishes and laundry. Had the weather been kinder and less mud generated, and overall a few small tweaks made to the infrastructure, it would have been perfect, but we will wait to return until it is all plumbed in so that the friction of caravan life is minimised. We love Lucy and Martin and will come back then!
