Motorhome - Electric Grass PitchesSep 2024

A basic site with small washrooms. The gent's had only two showers & two toilets with three wash hand basins. They were not very well lit, having no light switch to turn the lights on or sensor for them to come on when entering. The chemical waste was not to be found around the toilet facilities but at the bottom of the field with a long walk if you were at the opposite end of the site. The area is very quiet being down a country lane, so very little traffic noise which was nice. We found the field got very wet when it rained, with lots of surface water that did not drain very well and had a problem getting our motorhome off the pitch when we decided to leave. We left a day early as the weather got really bad and found another site with hardstanding for the last day of our holiday. The local village, St Merryn was a short walk with some nice pubs, a bakery and a convenience store which was well stocked. The local Bays were very pretty and about 2 miles away with plenty of parking. Padstow was a nice cycle ride away with the Camel trail taking you to Wadebridge which was a nice town.

Highly recommend this lovely site

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2024

Quiet site a 7 minute drive from Padstow and several beaches. Relatively simple, with it effectively being a giant field with a facilities block containing, toilets, showers along with a wash room, all super clean. There's also a small play area/fort for kids to play on. Negatives were that staff are not readily available on site if needed, though hardly an issue. A lot of the tent pitches are uneven, though not to the point we needed to move and not a deal breaker. Positives were that the site is quiet, clean and a short drive from supermarkets and Padstow and several beaches. All within 7 mins or so. Also, the site has a huge fenced dog area, which is almost the size of the main site itself. Really, really good for dog owners looking for space to exercise their dogs. If looking for a simple and clean site, I wouldn't hesitate to visit again.

Spacious site

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesJul 2024

We had a lovely greeting from the owner who made us feel very welcome. The site has fantastic views and there is plenty of space between caravans and tents. Only thing we didn't like was the roads around the area didn't have paths, so it wasn't the safest of roads to walk on if you wanted to walk into Padstow. But the campsite and service was perfect!

Lovely site

Sprinter-Type Campervan - Electric Grass PitchesJun 2024

Lovely site, large pitches, extremely quiet, a little out of the way (25 mins to nearest bus stop). Not the best roads for walking, but ok public transport. A little unreliable, but not the sites fault. Nice facilities, modern and clean.

Site's response

Thank you for leaving a review. Bus stops 25 minute walk or a 5 minute drive.

Lovely spacious pitches

Twin Axle Caravan - Electric Grass PitchesJun 2024

I found this gem of a site using Campsites.co.uk. On arrival we found a note on the reception was closed but there was a note on the door telling us what pitch we were on. Looking around it looked as if you could pitch however you wanted, the pitches were a very generous size. It would have been useful for there to be a small diagram so that you knew where to empty your waste, we ended up just watching to see what others were doing. We met the owners on the Tuesday after arriving on the Sunday who were both very friendly. We asked if the dog walk was secure as there was no gate to be told yes, it had sheep fencing all around and they were aware that they needed to replace the gate. This was added to the husband's to do list, as it had been removed when he improved the path. A lovely location, but pay heed if the road says not suitable for long vehicles! 10 minute walk to the local pub, The Cornish Arms, but be aware a large glass of wine cost £15! Walk another 10 minutes up the road to the village and you will find The Farmers Arms, which is cheaper and does a lovely Sunday carvery, but I would advise booking. From the Crossroads in the village you can get the bus to Padstow and into Newquay, only £2 each way PP and they let dogs travel at no extra charge. The site has nice hot showers and toilets, also disabled facilities, an indoor and outside washup area, washing machine and tumble dryer. Although generally clean, towards the end of our 10 day stay the site got a bit busier although lots of seasonal pitches and what people were leaving on the toilet floor or attempting to flush down the toilets in the ladies, makes you wonder what they do at home. Would benefit from sanitary bins. There is also a small play area for children. Would we return, yes.

We will definitely be back!

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass PitchesJun 2024

We loved Trewithen from the moment we arrived! Each pitch had loads of space, we managed a campervan, a gazebo and a car and still had plenty of space around the pitch. The facilities were clean and accessible, drinking water points at various points around the field. Oh, and the dog walking field had ample space for the pup to run around with very handy paths cut out. The campsites is a stones throw away from St Merryn, which we walked into and back a few times and it's about a 10 min drive to our favourite beach (Harlyn Bay)! We're already planning our next trip!

Good views lots of space

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass PitchesMay 2024

Pitches well spaced out, feels spacious. Toilets modern and immaculately clean. Nice to have an accessible shower and loo as well. Near to several beaches and towns. Needs a vehicle to arrive, there is a bus nearby and of course the Atlantic Coast bus. Recommend the camel trail from Wadebridge, suitable for families, cyclists, pushchairs and wheelchairs.
