Set in the glorious Cheshire countryside, Oakwood Campsite offers a relaxing stay just ten minutes from Nantwich. Spacious grass and hardstanding pitches welcome both tents and tourers, with electric hook ups available too. Surrounded by beautifully maintained grounds and with access to modern amenities, it is a great spot to pitch up and unwind. The attractions of Cheshire are also just 20 minutes away, with good road links nearby.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesSep 2024

I booked 3 nights away on a whim and am so glad I did. The site is secure so no randoms can just turn up and be nosey. The toilet/shower block exceeded my expectation. Modern, tiled, clean and most of all showers were hot 🙂 The camping plot was plenty spacious with marker lights dotted around for at night and there were taps with drinking water also placed around the site. The site was clean, tidy and well looked after. As impulse decisions go, this turned out to be one of my best ones. Lucy was lovely, friendly and very welcoming. I will definitely be coming back again. Maybe not in Daddy Long-leg season as my tent was the perfect hideaway for them and hopefully next time it doesn't rain.

Awesome site, looks great, good plot sizes, very nice helpful owner

Large Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2024

Our recent stay at Oakwood was a fantastic experience for the Mrs and J. The pitch sizes were great, providing ample space to set up comfortably, and we were fortunate to have a dry, no wind kind of day, which was super convenient. The park itself was well-maintained. We appreciated the family-friendly atmosphere whilst also being really relaxing for couples. The owner was another highlight of our stay, being super friendly and they were quick to help us navigate to our pitch. Located a small walk away from a lovely garden centre and nice pub, just be careful as the roads a little unsafe with no pavement but absolutely no reflection or fault of the campsite. All in all, Oakwood was a great camping site, and we'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a quick stay in a peaceful area.

Large Tent - Electric Grass PitchesAug 2024

Just returned from a fabulous bank holiday weekend at Oakwood. The campsite was very well laid out with plenty of space between tents, caravans and motorhomes. It was clean, tidy and loved the way no vehicles were around while the kids could play in the middle of the field and you could see them at all times. Very safe and it was a very secure site. Toilets, showers and washing up facilities clean and well equipped. We will definitely return.

Not the best campsite we have ever stayed at

Large Tent - Electric Grass PitchesAug 2024

Didn't feel welcomed by the host, wasn't given any information regarding facilities, we had to work out where everything was ourselves. The pitch itself was large enough but had very uneven ground.

Site's response

Dear Jason, Please allow me to address your complaints for other readers of this review.. I have checked your booking and you were allocated Pitch 17, which is a flat level pitch, any unevenness is created by campers during the season. This will be rectified during the closed period. The site itself is small (32 pitches) and as such everything is visible from your pitch, I was on site for some time during the weekend as we were busy and you only had to ask or phone me, there is even a site map online. Others, potential campers read reviews and as such, my business depends on them. I feel your review was unnecessarily harsh.

Large Tent - Extra Large Electric Grass PitchesAug 2024

This was our first time staying at Oakwood Campsite and we were happy with our stay. The site was well spaced out and toilet facilities were excellent. Unfortunately, the campsite shop was closed during our stay, but good communication was had throughout and we would consider staying again.

Site's response

Thank you. Unfortunately, the shop was not viable to keep open.

Lovely site

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2024

An extremely peaceful rural site (until I arrived with my 3 children at least!). Each plot was spacious and allowed vehicles to accompany the tent. We visited the local pub which was lovely, although I didn't enjoy the short walk on the pathless main road, especially with my young children. Shower and toilet facilities were impeccable, we will definitely visit again (the site, not just the shower and toilet facilities).

Site's response

Thanks Jamie.

Medium Tent - Electric Grass PitchesAug 2024

Really lovely place to stay. Nice and quiet and relaxed. Facilities are like new, shower was lovely and hot. Very clean as well. Host was very friendly and directed us to our pitch. We had an electric hook up but didn't have the 110 adapter as we only camp a few times a year but I'll be purchasing one now. Pitch was flat and full of lovely green grass. While there is no on site shop anymore there is a big Sainsbury's 10 minutes away which will have everything you require. There is a great pub (Coach & Horses) about a 2 minute drive or 10-15 minute walk. There are plenty more pubs in the area and also the town of Nantwich near by which is a lovely place. There is plenty of grass for kids to play around on and areas to walk around. Plenty of water taps around the site too. We only stayed for one night but really enjoyed it. The surrounding fields and views are picturesque. I'll definitely be coming back here again.

Site's response

Thank you. We look forward to seeing you again!

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2024

Booked this camping site for its location in the countryside and the feedback from other campers. It was very modern and clean and it's safe and secure. I liked the fact that it was next to a dairy farm so you could hear the cows in the morning. There's a lovely little pub close by called The Badger and it's surrounded by fields and farmland. The only negative was that the pitches are not marked and maybe a small pole with the letter on would be useful. Dogs are welcome and I would recommend this site mostly to couples/adults. There is a wash area, waste disposal, lots of taps on site and lovely modern shower facilities and toilets. There is no shop on site though. We would definitely return and recommend.

Site's response

Hi Cathy, thanks for your kind comments. I have now put markers on the pitches!

Short stay at a great site.

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesJun 2024

I was met on arrival and given directions to my pitch. Clean and pleasant site, the toilets and showers were fantastic. Clean, warm and well lit. The only criticism is the hot water was very hot and could do with lowering the temp a couple of degrees. Quiet area, but no phone signal. Prepare to have no Wi-Fi. Text instructions for leaving day. Would book here again. My son came from Nottingham and I drove up from Carmarthen for the BTCC at Oulton Park.

Site's response

Hi Richard, thank you for your kind comments. We look forward to seeing you again. In response to some of your comments. I will try to adjust the showers (although I did have complaints they were too cold!) The Wi-Fi is solely dependent on your provider at the moment, as I don't have any on site. When fibre finally arrives I will get it sorted!

Perfect place to stay

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Touring PitchesJun 2024

This is an amazing campsite! I love when campsites are clean and secure. Having a passcode door system is a great feature for added safety. It's also convenient to have a shop on-site for any necessities. And having large pitches gives you plenty of space to enjoy your van or set up any situation. Plus, clean and accessible amenities are always a big plus! It is a fantastic place to camp.

Site's response

Thank you 😊😊

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Touring PitchesJun 2024

A well organised, level site with a secure entrance and exit coded gate We booked this campsite initially because of its close proximity to the M6 on our way home from the Scottish borders. It was our first time using our new campervan so I wanted somewhere 1/2 way on our way home to West Sussex. This site is close to junction 16/17/18 and 19 south bound on the M6 near Chester. This is a lovely, well laid out level site, with ample space to exercise your doggy companion. Facilities are well laid out and very clean, roomy toilets and showers with lots of hot water. There is an outside covered washing up area with litter bins. This is a new-ish site, with lots of young trees planted which should look great once they mature. The site is part of a farm and is surrounded by hedges with walks to a couple of pubs - we didn't go to them so can't comment. The small shop on site is limited, so stock up before you visit. However, some of the produce is produced on the farm with local items too. There are fewer loos and showers in the men's facilities and my partner commented that a bench would be handy if you have to wait for a cubicle. If the site was full there might be a queue but not a problem when we visited. We were pleased to see such a secure gated entrance with a coded entry and exit - just call the owners when you arrive and they will let you in (you'll be given an exit code when you park up). We will definitely visit again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to friends. Thank you to the owners for a nice site.

Site's response

Hi Jacqueline, thank you for your kind comments. Regarding a bench, I am reluctant to put moveable items in the facilities as unfortunately I have had items stolen before. We very much look forward to seeing you in the future.

Single Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding Touring PitchesMay 2024

The site was not very busy when we stayed so can't comment on how it would be if it had more campers, but we found it clean, tidy and well located. The pitches are a good size and the toilet and shower facilities are modern and clean. It is in a good location and easy to find. Would recommend.

Site's response

Thank you.
