Fernwood Caravan Park is situated in Shropshire near Lyneal, south east of Ellesmere, in unspoiled countryside with lakes, woods and breathtaking views. Originally purchased as 66 acres of beautiful woodland and open countryside during the 60s, it has been sympathetically developed to retain the beauty of its natural surroundings, with a well stocked fishing lake. A dog friendly park, set close to a good pub.

About the site

The spacious touring area is well landscaped with attractive trees, shrubs and hedges and can accommodate touring caravans, motorhomes and trailer tents. Pitches well maintained and within easy reach of the onsite facilities. There is an option of electric hook up on grass, multi service pitches on hard standing or adult only on grass with electric and water hook up. Within the park the 40 acres of mature woodland is ideal for viewing wildlife, bird watching or taking a leisurely stroll with your dog. Enjoy a day's fishing on the coarse fishing lake, well stocked with rudd, tench and carp - to name a few. Please note that it is not a 'fishery' and therefore has to be fished! Alternatively, walk through the woods and fish in the beautiful Shropshire Union Canal. Static caravans are available to hire.

Facilities include a newly refurbished heated shower block, separate accessible facilities, launderette with coin operated washing machine, spin and tumble drier and ironing amenities. There is also a play area for little ones including a slide, climbing frame and swings.

National Trust properties Chirk Castle, Erddig and Attingham Park are within easy driving distance of the Park.

There are many glorious gardens close by, be they grand, formal, intimate or unusual. Among them, Wollerton Old Hall Garden and Hodnet Hall.
