About the site

Tucked away in the peaceful Somerset countryside, this adult only retreat offers all the luxury comforts you need for a relaxing escape. With the stunning Dorset AONB right on your doorstep, you can explore scenic walks, discover local wildlife and visit picturesque villages like Bridport and Lyme Regis. The shepherd's hut has a charming story to tell, inspired by a wartime romance. The tale of Esme, a Land Girl, and her love Fred comes to life through the vintage decorations and trinkets inside. Inside, you'll find a cosy double bed and an ensuite bathroom with a shower, toilet, and hand basin. For added comfort, your stay includes miniature toiletries, bedding, fluffy towels, bathrobes, and slippers. You'll also have modern conveniences like a Bluetooth speaker, USB charging points and WiFi to keep you connected. Cook up your favourite meal in the fully equipped kitchen featuring a small fridge, induction hob, kettle, pans, utensils, crockery, toaster, Krups coffee maker and even a milk frother! Locally sourced breakfast ingredients are supplied for your first morning. Step outside to your private garden, complete with a patio area and deckchairs, where you can enjoy a freshly made pizza from the pizza oven or relax in the wood-fired hot tub under the stars. If the weather turns, cosy up by the fire or settle in for a film in your secluded nook. Logs and kindling are provided for your first night and additional firewood can be purchased onsite for the rest of your stay. The shepherd's hut is dog friendly, so bring your four-legged friend along for the adventure! While the garden offers plenty of space for your pup to roam and play, please note that it may not be fully escape proof for particularly adventurous dogs.

The hut also features a kitchen area with a hob, fridge and hot drink making supplies as well as a pizza oven and private hot tub outside. WiFi is included in your stay to help you stay connected.

North Perrott Fruit Farm Shop is just a 20 minute walk away, offering a variety of local produce, a welcoming coffee shop and the chance to pick your own fruit during the summer months. The White Horse is just a two minute walk away, serving delicious food and refreshing drinks.

The Parrett Trail is just a 30 minute walk from the site. This picturesque route takes you through the rolling hills along the Dorset and Somerset borders, as well as the peaceful wetlands of the Somerset Levels and Moors.

Just a five minute drive away, Crewkerne is a charming market town filled with unique and independent shops. Stroll through the historic streets, explore the weekly farmers' market or relax in one of the cosy cafés.

A 40 minute drive will take you to Lyme Regis, a picturesque seaside town known for its stunning Jurassic Coastline, sandy beaches and fossil-filled cliffs. Wander along the historic Cobb or try your hand at fossil hunting on the beach.
