About Dittisham Hideaway

If you're looking for a luxury break in the Devonshire countryside, then you have found the perfect spot. With views over a wooded valley, and in easy reach of the River Dart and the charming port of Dartmouth, this is the ideal location for enjoying a relaxing time away. Guests have the choice between the site's three bespoke glamping accommodation options. From a cosy shepherd's lodges for a romantic stay for two, to a family of five treehouse with its own giant outdoor chess set and table football, there is something to suit everyone! The hand-crafted shepherd's lodges are great for couples wanting a peaceful getaway. Located in the old meadow, the lodges are each fitted with a cosy king-size bed. Inside there is also a lounge area to relax, a foldaway breakfast bar, a traditional wood-burning stove and a bathroom with a walk-in power shower. Families can also opt to stay in the six person shepherd's lodge. Parents can sleep comfortably in the main lodge whilst up to four children under 16 can stay in the mini adjoining hut, fitted with two sets of single bunk beds. You can also rest easy as the mini hut is linked by a camera/sound intercom for peace of mind. There are also two medium shepherd's huts equipped with a king-size bed and double sofa bed, perfect for families with younger children. Outside all of the shepherd's lodges, you will also have your own private terrace with an outdoor wood-fired hot tub, BBQ, loungers, dining table, chairs with a parasol, a fire pit and a double hammock. You will also have access to the communal games barn which includes table tennis, chess or table football. The treehouses are perfect for a hideaway amongst the canopy. Sleeping up to two adults and three children (under 16), the treehouses each have a king sized bedroom, along with a children's triple bunk bedroom and two bathrooms with power showers. Inside you will have a cosy lounge with a wood burning stove and underfloor heating, ideal for chilling on the sofa and watching a film together on the smart TV. There is also a fully equipped kitchen with a Nespresso coffee maker and a small herb garden on your balcony, perfect for home cooking. The restored 1956 vintage American Airstream is tucked away in a secluded area of the site in a private woodland setting. The interior is in keeping with the retro feel but with modern appliances including a sound system, combination oven, fridge, ice box, dishwasher, power shower, and even underfloor heating and air conditioning. There is also a comfortable sofa, breakfast bar and stools, a fitted kitchen and a bathroom. Outside is a private storage cabin with a washing machine/drier. Both the treehouses and the Airstream also have a large deck with a dining table, chairs, a parasol, a BBQ, sun loungers, a double hammock, outdoor chess and table football, and a wood fired hot tub. Inside each of the accommodation options, there will also be WiFi, Egyptian cotton bed linen, towels, essential toiletries and a large bag of logs. Guests can all enjoy a complimentary hamper packed with treats, enough for welcome tea/coffee and nibbles, with the inclusion of bread, butter and jam as well as a complimentary bottle of wine for you to enjoy on a warm sunny afternoon or a cosy winter evening by the fire. The site is also the previous winner of the Bronze Glamping Business of the Year at the Devon Tourism Awards! Fires are allowed in the fire pits and to fuel the wood-fired hot tubs. Two dogs are welcome in both the shepherd's lodges and the treehouses. One small dog is allowed in the Airstream, with the Buzzard treehouse being the only treehouse to not allow pets.

Dittisham Hideaway is open all year round in 2024 and 2025.
