Tyn Cornel is a beautiful campsite located just four miles from Bala and Llyn Tegid in Snowdonia, with a stunning riverside location (great for watersports!) and 4 star facilities. The site is ideally situated for adventures in the national park and the rest of North Wales, with a variety of pitches on offer, from back to nature camping with campfires to electric hook-ups on grass or hardstanding. Dogs are welcome too.

About Tyn Cornel Camping
Tyn Cornel Camping is situated on the banks of the River Tryweryn within the Snowdonia National Park, a short distance from the market town of Bala. The campsite is bordered by woodland and a spectacular white water river, surrounded by dramatic Welsh scenery. It's perfect for outdoor activity enthusiasts or those who just want a relaxing base for exploring local attractions. The touring field has 16 amp electrical hook-ups and a mix of pitches suitable for caravans, motorhomes, campervans or tents. All pitches are on level ground close to the river, with a mix of hardstanding or grass. The traditional grass camping field, without designated pitches, has covered picnic tables and free-to-hire fire pits so you can have that all important campfire for toasting your marshmallows! This field is flat - and close to the river, perfect for tents and smaller campervans. Glamping options in the form of heated Riverside Pods or a cosy furnished geodome for families, friends or couples. BBQs are encouraged across the whole site, and blocks are provided to raise them off the ground. Pets are welcome too, with a dog walk on site.
The site opens 21st March until 1st November. Non-electric grass pitches are open from 31st May.

Things to do on site and in the Bala area
Tyn Cornel Camping is in a prime location for exploring Snowdonia National Park. If you're after an active holiday in North Wales you will be spoilt for choice. Equally, if you just like relaxing in beautiful surroundings, or getting out to see the local tourist attractions, the campsite is ideal.
For active types, white water runs alongside the campsite and the National White Water Centre is just metres away. It's a great place to try white water rafting or to access year-round white water for kayaking or canoeing.
There is a river access ramp on site and with rafts regularly passing you'll be tempted to give it a go! For more water sports or a spot of swimming Lake Bala is just a ten minute drive away.
The walking in the area is second to none. Choose from a picturesque riverside walk straight from the campsite, the impressive peak of Arenig Fawr, or classic peaks such as Snowdon or Cadair Idris within easy driving distance.
Within a 30 minute drive there are some of the best mountain biking trail centres in the UK, including Coed y Brenin and Penmachno. The road cycling is fantastic. Quiet, winding country roads, some stiff climbs and consistently amazing views. For family cycling there is the Mawddach trail, Llandegla or Llyn Brenig.
Zip World, Bounce Below and Surf Snowdonia are all just a short trip away. As well as:
- Castles! Including the dramatic battlements of Harlech castle and Criccieth castle on the coast.
- Narrow gauge railways with magnificent steam trains: from Bala Lake to the famous Snowdon Mountain Railway
