About Highfield Holidays
Set across seven acres of Argyll countryside, this is an idyllic spot for relaxing and reconnecting with nature. Just 400m from sandy Tralee beach, you have the best of both with pretty countryside and coast all around you. The site has a selection of pitches for tourers and motorhomes, five are set on grass with electric hook up and the others are on hardstanding with the option of electric or fully serviced pitches so there's something for everyone! There is also a selection of seasonal pitches available. Or, why not treat yourself to a touch of luxury on your trip? Pick a glamping pod or safari tent to level up your getaway with stylish interiors and hot tubs to enjoy a glass of bubbly in the evenings, a perfect evening! The Highlander pods sleep four with a double bed and two benches that convert into single beds. There is also a fully equipped kitchen with towels and bedding provided. Outside the pods are a hot tub, fire pit, BBQ, patio furniture and a picnic bench. Three are dog-friendly and even come with a dog pod outside! The Glencoe pods sleep two and are perfect for a romantic getaway, inside is a fully equipped kitchen and ensuite bathroom. There are French doors that lead out to the private decking area, complete with a hot tub, fire pit, BBQ and patio furniture. Sorry, no dogs. Or, the Argyll glamping pods have a slightly more innovative design, all with stylish interiors, set at the edge of the onsite pond. These pods sleep four with a king-sized bed and a sofa bed. There is also a fully equipped kitchen as well as a fire pit and BBQ if you prefer to dine al fresco. Outside the pods is a patio with a hot tub and seating. If you're looking for something a bit different, the safari tent may be a perfect choice, sleeping four with a double bedroom and a second with bunk beds. The tents are heated and have a fully equipped kitchen with a fridge, gas hob, microwave and all crockery and utensils. Outside there is a patio with a BBQ, fire pit and a hot tub. Step up your safari tent with the deluxe option, these tents also sleep four with a double bedroom and a twin room. The tents have a bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen, an inside and outside dining area as well as central heating for chillier nights. Outside is a patio area with a hot tub, swing seat and fire pit. The glamping units also have access to a grass area with picnic benches and a communal BBQ ideal for relaxing in the evenings. Towels and bed linen are provided in all of the pods and safari tents. Oban is just a 20 minute drive from the site with the ferry that can take you to the Hebridean Islands like Mull, Kerrera and Lismore. Guests are also welcome to use the boat slipway, putting green and the fly fishing area of the local lodge park. Dogs are welcome in three of the Highlander pods, these even come with a dog pod outside! Sorry, no pets in the Argyll or Glencoe pods. There are designated fire pits and BBQs for campfires outside the glamping units, and for touring fire pits and BBQs can be used on the hardstanding and gravel areas, just not the grass.
Camping, touring, and safari tents are available from the end of March until November. Pods are open from 7th February until 6th December, then from 27th December until 1st January.
