About Dunwell Farm

A rustic and rural spot in the Devonshire countryside, this site offers guests easy access to the South Hams and the South Devon coastline, just a 20 minute drive from sandy beaches. Welcoming families and dogs, this is an ideal spot for a relaxing getaway where the whole family is welcome. The farm offers five touring pitches for campervans and caravans and around 20 grassed tent pitches, all without electric for a back to nature camping experience. Or, if you don't have all the camping gear, choose one of the bell tents. Sleeping up to four with floor mattresses, depending on the size of your group, the bell tents also come with duvets, pillows, sheets, lanterns, cushions and rugs. Located just 35 minutes from Plymouth and ten minutes to Dartmoor National Park, there is plenty to do for all, whether you are looking to explore a new town or meet the wild ponies on your walk. The stunning coastline is just a 20 minute drive away so pack the bucket and spade for days at the beach! BBQs are permitted as long as they are raised to not scorch the grass. Fire pits are not permitted, sorry. Dogs are welcome, with up to three dogs allowed to join you for your stay.

Dunwell Farm is open from 24/04 to 29/09.

Single Axle Caravan - Non Electric Grass Touring PitchesSep 2024

Dunwell Farm is located just outside Ugborough, we had a wonderful stay there and luckily the weather was very kind to us. On arrival, via a small country lane, we were greeted by the owner a bit later on, who welcomed us and said we could pitch up wherever. We were the only ones on the site until the following day which was wonderful. The site itself is quite high up, therefore a little windy. However, makes up for it with some absolutely fantastic views over to the peaks of Dartmoor. Facilities at the site were very clean, it had indoor and outdoor washing up facilities, 2 toilets and 2 showers and a hand basin. Drinking water tap, toilet waste water disposal and a covered area for holiday makers to sit under and eat. We have given 4 stars for the toilet facilities as they also accommodate for weddings in the next field, so it may get busy with people staying and in the height of the season too. The facilities were very, very clean, useable throughout the night and contact details provided if any issues. This is the first campsite we've stayed at which actually displayed their licence details of how many bell tents and other campers were allowed at any one time! Massive tick! Field is very large, if busy you may be on a slope, so don't forget your levelling ramps. Remember, it is a working farm so you will see a tractor here and there, we had the pleasure of watching the owners work at one point which was really interesting. It is a very quiet area, with Shilstone House within 5 mins walking distance, across the field and down the lane which has a restaurant and café onsite. Other little walks around the area too. It's only a 20 minute drive to the coast - we visited Bigbury on Sea and a fantastic walk to Burgh Island. Little tip park in the field as you come down the hill (£5.00 per day) otherwise the carpark nearest the sea is £14.00 a day. Absolutely lovely place and will definitely stay again, thank you for a lovely couple of nights and your hospitality.

Amazing
