About Heritage Coast Campsite

Peaceful and secluded, Heritage Coast Campsite offers six acres of level grass paddocks with 30 good sized pitches for tents and campervans plus spaces for cars to ensure total convenience. With uninterrupted views of the rural vale of Glamorgan and sparkling waters of the Bristol Channel, this campsite is ideal for those looking to escape from it all. And for anyone who loves the idea of camping but wants a little luxury too? There are fully furnished 5m bell tents complete with double bed, crisp cotton bedding and cosy duvets, bath towels, carpeting and rugs plus soft furnishings and essentials including tea, coffee, condiments, crockery, cutlery, pans and a kettle to guarantee a comfortable stay. A choice of BBQ or campfire, supplied with a basket of logs, firelighters and kindling is available for your private outdoor dining area which is fully kitted out with table and chairs and decorated with lanterns and bunting for that extra magical touch. An additional outdoor awning can be rented for extra protection from the sun or rain. Four metre bell tents and a little house for two are also available and come without bedding but with plenty of charm. A 'room service in a field' service is on hand to bring logs, provide maps and even provide breakfast in bed complete with Prosecco, orange juice, fresh fruit, smoked salmon and scrambled egg on toasted muffin, freshly brewed tea or coffee all waitress delivered on china plates. Perfect! Up to two well behaved dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead. Open fires are not permitted, but the site does have fire pits available to hire, just add this option on when booking, it will be delivered to your pitch! Gas BBQs are also welcome. Wood also must be purchased onsite. Disposable BBQs and your own fire pits are not permitted.

Facilities and amenities

Site facilities include ladies and gents blocks with two toilets, two showers (50p), two sinks and a hair dryer in the ladies. There is also an accessible bathroom. For washing up, guests have the use of a utility room with two sinks and hot and cold water, here there is also a freezer. Free WiFi is available as well as a mobile phone charger that can be hired for £1 a charge.

Teddy's Espresso Bar and Kitchen' open Friday to noon on Sunday with breakfast served Saturday and Sunday from 8:30am-10:30am. This cafe also serves light meals, snacks, cakes and ice creams. The cafe is also licensed and sells a selection of wines, beers and ciders.

You'll be a two minute walk from The Plough and Harrow pub which is open nighly and offers live music at weekends. The village shop is also within walking distance if you need to pick up any essentials.

As part of a beautiful coastal landscape, Heritage Coast Campsite is a haven for families or couples looking for a quiet break. Ideal for walkers and cyclists, the area offers fishing, surfing, beach excursions, areas of historic interest including churches and castles, great local pubs and so much more!

The campsite is located just a 10 minute walk via public footpaths to Monkash Beach, ideal for rock-pooling at low tide and dramatic cliff top walks and the Blaen-y-cwm nature reserve and beach, a lovely 15 minute stroll from the campsite through a wonderful wood with its own waterfall.

The two historic towns of Llantwit Major and Cowbridge. Llantwit Major are just a short drive from the campsite and offer everything from supermarkets to coffee shops and historic inns for a bite to eat plus boutiques and gift shops.

Llantwit Major offers a train or bus service to the Cardiff, the capital city of Wales (approximately 23 miles from the campsite), if you're looking for city style facilities such as swimming pools, an ice-rink, museums and great shopping too!

The Vale is a coastal region and the most southerly point in Wales, along which runs the Wales Coast Path through Victorian seaside resorts such as Penarth and Barry Island and over secluded coves and beautiful beaches offering surfing, boat cruises or just a lovely relaxing day out (don't forget buckets and spades!).
