Upper Parsonage Farm has a fantastic rural location in the heart of the Meon Valley. It offers a smartly upgraded private toilet facility for each of its eight pitches and also private facilities for the cosy shepherd's hut. A warm welcome, helpful advice and a peaceful base for getting back to nature all await. Ideal for walkers on the South Downs Way, exploring the national park and bike rides through Hampshire countryside.
About Upper Parsonage Farm
This is a small, well maintained and thoughtfully kept site. It's in a great rural location - the site is part of a traditional 1,400 acre working farm that's been owned and run by the same family for more than a century. Access is very convenient with the A3 a 10 min drive away for those looking to see more Hampshire countryside or to visit Winchester and Portsmouth. For days out without the car, you're only a half mile from the South Downs Way. Sheep sometimes base themselves next door to the pitching field, and guests are welcome to watch the harvest being brought in if they're staying at the right time and while away the evening in front of the fire pit toasting marshmallows. Pitches are set on grass without electric and although the maximum per pitch is generally four, families of more are welcome. The farm is in both the South Downs National Park and part of the East Hampshire Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Passionate about the area, the team have signed up to many eco friendly projects to help the local flowers and plant life, too. The atmosphere on site is relaxed and environmentally friendly - encouraging guests to go plastic free, keep fires well contained and protect the local wildlife.
The site is generally open from April until September, but may welcome guests outside of these dates for walkers on the South Downs Way, subject to weather conditions.

Site rules and policies
We don't like lots of rules but here are a few conditions and campsite etiquette to ensure everyone staying has a happy and enjoyable break away.
Booking Policy
Please be advised unless you receive the booking confirmation email, your booking is not yet confirmed. Pitches are let for campers own tents and Dolly is let with no bed linen.
Arrivals: Mon - Sat only, from 1:00pm to 7:00pm
Departure: Please vacate your pitch by 11.30am
One Dog goes free
Unauthorised admission will be charged double. This includes any children not declared on the booking form and infants.
Be Nice
Everyone has bad days but try not to let them spoil other campers enjoyment. Consider other campers, and if the children are restless arrange supervised games or enjoy nearby pursuits at QEP Country Park. If we consider behaviour unacceptable and detrimental to the campsite you will be asked to leave with no refund.
Be Sober
We all enjoy a tipple but keep it in moderation and remember the only legal stimulant on our campsite is a cup of strong coffee. Dispose of your bottles and cans in the correct eco bin and that goes for the other rubbish. Any unauthorised camping equipment or rubbish £200 fine.
Be Cool
Relax, if you play an instrument, ask fellow campers if they mind and the same applies to your other music. If they like the sound that's great if they don't please switch it off. Enjoy the stars and the owls and keep the sound quiet after 11pm, we are a quiet site.
Be Honest
Please Book for the correct number in your party, additional cars will be charged so we can keep the green space for games and relaxation. We do not accept bookings for stag or hen parties. Please don't book and hope we won't notice - because we will! We have restricted the pitch size to 4 but please ask if you have a family that is larger.
Under 16s that are not accompanied by an adult are required to pay the full adult fee.
Be Prepared
It happens so please note our cancellation policy. We are happy to refund 75% of your payment if given more than 30 days' notice by email and 50% of your payment if you cancel your stay with us at least 15 days in advance. Any less notice than this and unfortunately we are not able to offer refunds. We very much look forward to welcoming you. If a member of your family has tested positive for Covid -19 and you are self-isolating, we will of course honour your booking at another time or next year.
Be Dog Friendly
We allow one per pitch for free. We love dogs but not everyone feels the same about your furry friend. All dogs on site MUST be kept on a lead at all times and immediately cleared up after. If you bring any dog deemed dangerous, antisocial or in any way threatening, you (and it) will be asked to leave. If you do not clear up after your dog you will be asked to leave. No exceptions as we have a large number of sheep with lambs. You must let us know if you're bringing a dog in the 'additional stay details' box at the end of the booking process.
Things to do on site and in the Petersfield area
Great walks to be had in the area, with Butser Hill National Nature Reserve (five minutes' drive) a popular choice and Queen Elizabeth Country Park (a little further), or perhaps a quick hop on a bike to a local country pub.
History buffs will definitely want to check out Butser Ancient Farm - home to archaeological displays which date back through time, and the perfect skill sessions for campers, with tips on campfires, foraging and more. Have a mosey around Winchester's medieval centre and its cathedral for more signs of the past.
A 20 minute drive will take you to Portsmouth where you'll be awed by the Mary Rose and then you can get a sense for how the other half lived many centuries later at Jane Austen's House Museum (25 minutes).
