Karrageen is nestled in a beautiful valley surrounded by National Trust Coastline just one mile from the pretty fishing village of Hope Cove and just four miles from Salcombe. The park offers very generous pitches, most with electric hook-ups, for tents, motorcaravans and caravans of all shapes and sizes on treelined terraces many with sea and countryside views. The park is very popular with many guests returning yearly so booking is recommended.
About Karrageen Caravan and Camping Park
Karrageen has been a caravan and camping Park since the 1920's in the days of horse drawn caravans when guests were first introduced to this wonderful area of 'Outstanding Natural Beauty' surrounded by stunning coastline which is managed by The National Trust. Today it offers guests a great camping experience with a back to nature feel. Karrageen is family owned and personally managed by Phil and Nikki who have crafted and improved the Park over the past 28 years offering very spacious, terraced, treelined pitches, most with great views, and first class facilities. There is no club, bar or childrens playground, but plenty of room for children to play happily and safely and a well stocked shop offering freshly baked croissants and bread in the mornings. For those who prefer not to camp, Karrageen has a small fleet of new, very well equipped static caravans to hire. In high season, the Top Field offers views second to none, directly over Bigbury Bay toward Plymouth Sound - a perfect location for an evening barbecue!
Karrageen opens the week before Easter and closes at the end of September.

Things to do on site and in the Salcombe area
The park is in a beautiful valley on the south Devon coast, surrounded by National Trust protected coastline. Hope Cove's sandy beaches and rock pools is around a mile away and a little further afield you have stunning Salcombe.
Hope Cove is a walkable one mile down the Devon lane from the Park and soft sandy beaches protected by a breakwater, allowing a gently shelving paddling area for small children to play and swim safely.
Outer Hope Cove, nearer to the pub, offers a smaller beach with sandy coves and rock pools. Salcombe and it's estuary are a must see for all visitors and is only a 4 mile, 5 minute drive from the park.
Famously described as 'the most beautiful estuary in England' it offers many great photo opportunities along the coastal paths surrounding it. Salcombe also has an abundance of eating establishments and water sports facilities of all kinds with fishing boats taking bookings daily.
