Dunwell Farm is located just outside Ugborough, we had a wonderful stay there and luckily the weather was very kind to us. On arrival, via a small country lane, we were greeted by the owner a bit later on, who welcomed us and said we could pitch up wherever. We were the only ones on the site until the following day which was wonderful. The site itself is quite high up, therefore a little windy. However, makes up for it with some absolutely fantastic views over to the peaks of Dartmoor. Facilities at the site were very clean, it had indoor and outdoor washing up facilities, 2 toilets and 2 showers and a hand basin. Drinking water tap, toilet waste water disposal and a covered area for holiday makers to sit under and eat. We have given 4 stars for the toilet facilities as they also accommodate for weddings in the next field, so it may get busy with people staying and in the height of the season too. The facilities were very, very clean, useable throughout the night and contact details provided if any issues. This is the first campsite we've stayed at which actually displayed their licence details of how many bell tents and other campers were allowed at any one time! Massive tick! Field is very large, if busy you may be on a slope, so don't forget your levelling ramps. Remember, it is a working farm so you will see a tractor here and there, we had the pleasure of watching the owners work at one point which was really interesting. It is a very quiet area, with Shilstone House within 5 mins walking distance, across the field and down the lane which has a restaurant and café onsite. Other little walks around the area too. It's only a 20 minute drive to the coast - we visited Bigbury on Sea and a fantastic walk to Burgh Island. Little tip park in the field as you come down the hill (£5.00 per day) otherwise the carpark nearest the sea is £14.00 a day. Absolutely lovely place and will definitely stay again, thank you for a lovely couple of nights and your hospitality.

Location is far enough away from places that it's very peaceful, but close enough for dining out via a walk.
Incredible views

For our first ever experience of camping, this was an incredible find! The bell tent was spacious and presented beautifully, homely touches of a table, lamp and plant were greatly received. The location and views are incredible, watching the sunset from the bench was worth the cost alone and the fact we were the only tent was a lovely bonus so we could run around and play in the spacious field. Facilities are brilliant, having the kitchen/fridge area was perfect with having a child with me. We even got to meet and play with the owner's dog, which my son loved 😍 Overall, we had the best experience and we will definitely be back!

Arrived later than planned but given really clear instructions on which tent was ours. A lovely spot with a good view. The tent was as expected but the mattress was much better than we had hoped for. A really good two nights sleep. The toilets and showers were immaculate. Overall, a lovely quiet site with great facilities. We will be returning.
