Myself and a mate camped here. The facilities were excellent and really well looked after. The hosts were very responsive to text. Just down the road from North Devon Wake park and close to several great surfing beaches. 100% will be staying at Roey's again!

Convenient location for us to stay for a one night stopover to catch up with friends who live in the area. All facilities available but basic, of which we have no complaints about, we are not fussy people. Quite a large site with ample space between pitches.

Great campsite and great service when booking. Site is near road, so you do get road noise but you do get used to it.

Lovely two night stay, the field its self is well maintained and nice pitch sizes, so you aren't all close together. The camp was easy to find and is well located to get around to local attractions. The only downside was the closeness of the main road but if you don't mind a slight traffic noise. Facilities were good and very clean. We loved the little shop provided! It was ideal as we forgot our milk, it was well stocked and fairly priced. Love it 😁

We had a lovely couple of nights at this campsite. Ideal if you want to visit Clovelly as it's a 20 minute walk. Owners were very friendly and helpful and we enjoyed a pizza on Saturday night cooked in the pizza oven to order. This is a very basic campsite but the toilets were clean and the showers lovely and warm and clean. Our pitch was a bit of a walk to the facilities but if you're looking for a basic friendly no nonsense campsite and value for money this is ideal. Small play area for children and very dog friendly. Take some £1 coins for the showers.

This is a great site with very helpful staff. The pizzas was great. The site has not changed in 23 years, only the showers are now £1 then it was 20p. Keep doing what you are doing.
Basic, small and tidy - just what was expected and needed!

Quick stop-off here on a southern road trip so arrived late and left early. Showers were clean and warm; £1 was 5 mins which was more than enough. Roey popped round to say hello and if we needed anything. Pitch sizes were more than enough and plenty of room down the middle. Just off the main road and well signposted.
A lovely relaxing stay

Very friendly, shop was great. It was my birthday and the owners had put fairy lights along the fence for me, it was very sweet. We had bad weather but the ground was good despite being in the grassed pitches. Noise of the main road isn't as bad as many have stated, my neighbour's snoring was worse, lol. Walkable distance from Clovelly which is where I wanted to visit, amongst many other places recommended by staff. Great stay, thank you.
Huge grassy pitches, friendly welcome

Great spot for exploring Clovelly and nearby coast (walkable)! Friendly helpful owners, fresh hen eggs on site plus mini shop. Huge grassy pitches. Next to main road, but quiet overnight. Facilities basic but clean, and plenty of hot water for washing up.
A beautiful and relaxing site

Spotlessly clean, small and beautiful site with the most welcoming and friendly hosts. The pitches were large with plenty of room for the children to play. Our boys loved the board games that were available, swings and the chickens, and we loved the relaxed vibe of the place. Plus, the location, which was in easy reach of so many places worth a visit. The site is next to a busy road which can be loud at times but doesn't detract from the peacefulness of the site. Nearby Clovelly is a beautiful but steep walk from the site (ask for the off road route), Milky Way is great fun for kids and the parents, Woolsey fish' n' chips are super good, Westward Ho! is a beautiful beach when the tide is out and walking along the coastal path is just stunning. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

We had a very nice stay at Roey's, little on site shop well stocked and good prices for convenience. Clean shower and toilets were well looked after. Owner came and introduced herself, and was a very nice touch. We felt very welcome. Small play area and chickens were a bonus, selling fresh eggs too! Make sure you bring cash as showers are £1 for 5 mins. We were unaware and only had card, so just a little pointer ☺️

This is a basic campsite and when that is the case, then the basics have to be spot on. Fortunately for Roey's Retreat, the basic provision is excellent. The campsite is clean, tidy, conveniently located and evidently cared for by the attentive owners. The owners provided a point of difference to other sites by going above and beyond to make sure that our stay was enjoyable and stress free. Thank you Karen and Nick (and the young lady cleaner), for your hospitality whilst we completed 2 stretches of the SW Coast Path, whilst also celebrating our wedding anniversary.
Everything we wanted after a long days' walking!

We loved Roey's Retreat from the moment we arrived! The campsite is peaceful, full of evening sun and the occasional wandering chicken in true country style. The facilities were everything we needed (hot shower, clean toilets, a kitchen area to do washing up) and the shop was kitted out with all you could want after a long day of walking! Roey and Vanessa made us so welcome, and we would love to stay there again. Thank you both so much - for the great stay and the life advice!

Lovely, friendly site, a pleasant few miles walk from coastal path above Clovelly. Have selected that it suits couples best, but good for backpackers (little shop on site) and other groups I'd imagine. Swings etc for children too!

Convenient site close to main route through North Devon and a little over a mile from the entrance to Clovelly, which means you can avoid the £8.75 parking fee. The site is level, has a small shop with an honesty box for basics and a nice shaded sitting area. There is a pizza oven on site. It wasn't in use while we stayed but that was a quiet time of year so it may well be working during the summer holidays. I would be happy to stay again.

Beautiful and peaceful campsite with easy access to the lovely village of Clovelly. Karen the campsite owner couldn’t have been more helpful with advice on getting around. Dog friendly and a handy on site shop for basics with an honesty box system. Would definitely come again!

Great hosts, Karen and Mick are very friendly and helpful they make you feel very welcome. Spacious pitches and spotless facilities. You can also buy fresh eggs from their chickens, honesty shop on site. Wish we could have stopped for Nicks Pizza night. Near Clovelly village, walk or bus, Karen even offered to drop us off at the village. We would definitely return.

A great little facility with a very welcoming owner. Everything that a backpacker needs is there with a great little honesty shop. Owner couldn't have been more helpful and was there to give an arranged lift back to the start of the coast path. Highly recommend.
