The shepherd's hut was better than expected - tucked away from the main site and beautifully placed for lovely views of the valley especially at sunrise. For a tiny living space it had everything we needed to keep warm, cook a simple meal, have great morning coffee, and enjoy the peace of the countryside. And a hot tub - a challenge to get going but worth the wait and effort! An unexpected surprise was the lush heated swimming and spa pools and sauna - still open in early October, with the same gorgeous views over the valley from the pool! Overall, a perfect short stay in a simple yet luxurious hut.

Me and my partner stayed in the shepherd's hut for two nights and had a wonderful stay. The hut is situated a short stroll from the main site, however, feels very secluded and private. The log fired hut was perfect for an evening under the stars, though does take a little time to heat up so be aware to factor this in! Beautiful views from the hut/tub looking over the valley and River Looe. The facilities at the main site were excellent, including a pool, shallow pool and hot tub along with an infra-red sauna. All with more beautiful views. The check in process was very easy and did not require a face-to-face process, which suited us well. All in all it was a lovely, cosy stay with great facilities and fantastic views.
Perfect for reactive dog owners!

We stayed at their hut with the hot-tub and had such a fantastic time. Finding a location with a secure private fenced area around the hut that doesn't cost an extortionate amount is starting to become more difficult, but hideaway huts have provided this in a beautiful setting! They provided all the basics of cooking equipment, bedding, running water and a toilet. Even provided some luxuries such as local snacks, eggs from their chickens, some initial wood for the burner/hot-tub and a nicely kitted out shower room. We also had access to an adjacent dog field which we used often. A stroll down the hill provided a stunning walk through the woods and shops are easy to access with a 5 minute drive. The hosts were willing to come and introduce themselves and help us get settled in, but we opted to be reclusive and sent them a friendly text that we were okay, and they accepted that. All around, we had a lovely time (although the weather was not on our side) and our reactive dog had the time of her life being able to explore a secure enclosure. We would highly recommend hideaway huts, and I can see us returning again.

The perfect place if you want to getaway from the stresses of modern life! The lambing hut is set in the corner of a field high up to take full advantage of the superb views across farmland, where you can watch horses graze. We even saw a fox searching for his dinner (obviously not a horse!) The hut was very clean and the owners had left a welcome tray, which was much appreciated. At night time when its clear, you can see the stars whilst sitting around a firepit with logs supplied by the owners. The bed was very comfortable for a good nights sleep. A great place to re-charge your batteries!

I had a lovely time staying in the Lambing Hut. The location was perfect, exactly what I wanted. It was private, quiet and had the most beautiful views. The hut was clean, very comfortable and warm (I didn't need to use the log burner in the evenings when the temperate dropped). The hot shower was wonderful and the fridge and gadget charging were a lovely surprise and very handy. The only downside was that the Lambing Hut is located at the top of a short but steep hill so getting all my gear up to the hut was hard work however it was completely worth it once I got settled in as the view wasn't the same from lower down in the field. I was also able to take my dog and he had a lovely time running around in the fenced area. I didn't use any of the facilities (swimming pool, riding school etc) however they all looked clean and well maintained. I would definitely stay there again.

Lovely peaceful weekend away. Difficult to find but that was part of the beauty. At the top of a steep field with great views down to Looe. The hut warms up so quickly with the fire and the basic kitchen was enough to cook a quick breakfast before heading out to a walk.

This is a very special place. The lambing hut is small, but comfy. Our children put up a tent next to the hut. The view is stunning, the owners are very nice. The lambing hut is quite different from the cottages (which are also considerably more expensive): you have to carry your luggage up a quite steep hill and use a compost toilet. We had some problems with the shower, but the owners got this fixed while we were there. Apart from this, facilities such as the pool, tennis court and possibility of horse riding are great and quite luxurious.

Had the nicest stay here! Had everything we needed and the view was stunning! Hot tub was a massive bonus, was so nice and warm. Was enclosed so our dog could roam free which she loved. Felt so private, we loved it. Would happily come back again! Thank you!

Fabulous views, secluded, and great walks. We really enjoyed our 2 night stay. Cosy hut with everything you need tucked away. A lovely welcome with daffodils, biscuits, fresh eggs and apple juice. The hut is completely fenced off so safe for dogs, with another field alongside for ball throwing or other doggy games or strolls. Everything is geared for being eco friendly which is great. The toilet, shower room and washing up facilities are a short walk away which was fine with us. We spent our 2 evenings in the log fired hot tub watching the night sky, which was fabulous, so relaxing. There are horses in the fields next to the hut and Tigger would come and say hello, such a sweet, calm horse. There are facilities a short distance away including spa, children's play areas, info centre, small shop and swimming pool for warmer months. We drove a short distance into Looe, so pretty with little shops and places to eat. The Shepherd's Hut is completely secluded and very peaceful (no WiFi) which was nice. You can receive free WiFi in the info centre. Thank you for a great stay, Julie, Eric and Antis
