About Bryn y Cadno Camping

Set on an ancient farm in the beautiful surroundings of West Wales, this family-friendly site is the perfect off-grid camping experience. Sleeping up to four, these are complete with a double bed, two singles with warm duvets, blankets and hot water bottles for those colder nights. Expect to see an abundance of wildlife including moorhens, Canadian geese, frogs and more. Watch out for the otters seen in the river. In the evenings, get cosy around the campfire. Close by to Dark Sky Reserve at the Brecon Beacons, don't forget to look up to the stars! Fire pits provided. Logs, marshmallows and other goodies can be bought on site. Well-behaved dogs are welcome but not in the bell tents. This site is part of the Greener Camping Club, and at least one party member must be a member. Membership costs £12 for the year.

A note from the site themselves...

Why do we love where we are? It is such a wonderful place it has a bit of everything except the sea. River, pond, woodland old and young, a 'mountain' though only a hill by Welsh standards and the buildings are full of character.

For me, Lis, I have a large veggie patch and, in time, a colourful garden - no time for those when we were farmers contracted to supply to a deadline. Nature is pretty wild here, and we like to give a helping hand to our very varied bird and insect population.

So, whilst we are always busy with clearing some areas for native tree and shrub planting, we leave others to stay wild with sustainability in mind. There's a long way to go, but we have had the rewards of seeing birds flourish and wildflowers coming back in some of the once unloved areas. Terry takes time to watch 'his' birds, usually now joined by several families of cheeky squirrels.

All this equals contentment and making new friendships.
