Nestled in the picturesque Lake District, Kestrel Lodge Campsite provided a serene escape. The host was incredibly helpful, offering valuable recommendations for local attractions and was very friendly. The yurt was well-maintained and equipped with basic amenities, including cooking facilities and an optional electric hook-up. The solar-powered lights provided sufficient illumination, making the electric hook-up a potentially unnecessary expense for those solely concerned with charging devices. While we didn't have the opportunity to hike up Skiddaw due to unfavourable weather, the campsite's location offered easy access to this peak for those seeking a more of an adventure. Overall, Kestrel Lodge Campsite provided a comfortable and enjoyable stay in the Lake District, with plenty of opportunities for outdoor exploration.

We had a lovely bank holiday weekend in our yurt at Kestrel Lodge site as a family of 5. The site is in a really peaceful location with easy access to walks including waterfalls and skiddaw, as well as a pub! There is a little shop on site open in morning and early evening which was great for stocking up on wood for the fire pit. Keswick itself is only a short drive away for supermarket. The toilets and showers were always clean and there were enough of them for the site. The staff we met were really friendly. The yurt was simply furnished, beds were cosy and everything we needed for our stay was there.

Great stay!

Had a lovely few days at Kestral lodge in one of their Yurts. Had everything we could have needed. They even made sure that the weather was amazing while we were there. Would definitely recommend it. The chickens were very cheeky but funny to watch, they kept on eating the dog food. We have chickens at home so the dogs didn't bat an eyelid.

Highly recommend

Amazing stay, perfect location and the yurt was lovely. All clean and everything there you need. Definitely recommend paying for the electric and hook up as included. Site is quiet, it was full and everyone was lovely and chatty. Everything you need, a little shop and honesty boxes for everything you need when the shop is unavailable. Always someone on site available to help and they honestly can't help you enough. The location was fab for walks etc and the ladies at the shop are helpful in directing you to where you need to be. Was tricky to find at first, but if you put the Sun Inn in the sat nav it's way easier. The directions are better followed on the website rather than sat nav. We loved our stay and didn't want to come home, we plan on returning and may even try camping. Thank you so much for a perfect weekend.

Brilliant yurts

First time glamping and I was pleasantly surprised. Yurts were spacious enough they were complete with gas hobs, kitchen utensils, cleaning supplies and a wood burner (which we definitely used at night as it does get cold). Outside we had a BBQ, fire pit so plenty of options for cooking your own food. Seating provided outside each yurt so we didn't need to bring our own. The park itself was lovely and clean, very quiet. Brill toilet/shower and cleaning facilities. Loved the small honest shop very handy for little bits. The kids loved the open space and the couple bits of play bits at the bottom field.
