About Kentmere Farm Pods

Potter along the stream and enjoy the rich wildlife of this glamping site, nestled away in the heart of the Lake District National Park. Watch the swallows swooping overhead and Wagtails bobbing by the River Kent and the pods are off grid, so it a great opportunity to truly escape the daily bustle. There are just four pods onsite, each sleeping up to four people in a double bed and double sofa bed, with all bedding and linen provided. They include an ensuite wet room with a shower head, toilet and sink. The compact kitchen is equipped with a microwave, fridge, kettle, sink and crockery with a small dining area to eat in. Outside is your own little patio with bistro seating and the option to hire your own Kadai fire pit for your stay. You'll have picturesque views over the valley right from your doorstep. You'll be staying on a working farm with bustling hens, White Faced Woodland sheep, Swaledale, a few rag-tag Herdwicks as well as a small herd of beautiful and gentle Highland cattle - perfect for animal lovers. The farm has very pretty traditional stone barns, a 1800's farmhouse and is spread across 500 acres with the River Kent flowing through. Staveley is just an easy ten minute drive (two miles) and has a number of cafes and shops waiting to be explored. With virtually no light pollution, on a clear night it is the perfect place to stargaze. All four pods are well equipped for walkers and bikers, with boot boxes ready for your muddy footwear and a shed to lock away your bike. Dogs are not permitted in three of the pods, however one of the pods does welcome one four-legged friend at an additional cost. Just please don't let them on the furniture.

Kentmere Farm Pods is open from 09/02 to 03/11.

A note from the site themselves...

The farm has been in the family for over 200 years and is steeped in history. We love the peace and quiet, being so close to nature and the change of seasons. Everyday brings something special.

Seeing the results of natural regeneration on the farm, with increased wild flowers, heather and sedges, reinforces our commitment to good environmental practice and we are proud that the farm is in a Higher Level Stewardship scheme. The river Kent is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and attracts Dippers, Wagtails and Herons.

Just under the old, stone, packhorse bridge down the lane (a fantastic spot for playing Pooh sticks), you can often find rare White Claw Crayfish, if you gently lift the stones. Be careful, they can surprise you with a gentle nip of your toes!

Camping Pod - Ensuite Glamping Pod (Dog Friendly)Oct 2024

Nice pods and clean, lovely remote location. Very quiet, no TV and limited phone signal, which added to the remote experience. Great hosts, and accommodating if you need anything.

Camping Pod - Ensuite Glamping Pods (No Dogs)Sep 2024

What an amazing find these were. Pods are in their own field with a separate parking area. We stayed in late September for 2 nights and were so lucky with the weather. The last night we were blessed with an open sky and the star display was something like we've never seen. We can't wait to go back and would recommend these to anyone. The pods are small but well designed and are super warm with underfloor heating. There is copious amounts of hot water but no cooker, only a microwave so plan your meals carefully. The views are spectacular from the pods and its so peaceful. I could go on and on.

Site's response

Wow! So fantastic to hear how much you loved our place! Thank you. There is so little light pollution here, the skies are amazing if there is no cloud cover. So glad you saw it and look forward to seeing you again.

Lovely little site
